Because we aren’t given a psychopathic manual out of the womb. We hear the same crap everyone else does about psychopaths, and none of it applies to us. We have no reason to think that

• We’re all serial killers
• Super geniuses
• Narcissists
• Unable to control our faculties
• Can switch off empathy so we can do bad things and not feel awful about it
• That we’re abusive
• We eat people
• We’re rapists
• We’re stalkers
• We are the worst part of society

We hear these things, and this is what psychopathy is to not only everyone else, but to us as well. We know we are different, but we aren’t being told that psychopathy is actually

Ruthlessness

Fearlessness

Impulsivity

Self Confidence

Focus

Coolness under pressure

Mental toughness

Charm

Charisma

Empathy-low

Conscience-low

If we were told that, most of us would go,

“Ohhhhhhhhh………..so that’s what that is. All right, cool. Good to know.”

And then crack on with our day.
