Oh my! I used to waitress in a small brunch cafe that was located in a very specific part of Los Angeles. Let me tell you, ghetto people will ask for the most outrageous things! Things that they made up, things that aren’t on the menu. They’ll even ask you to act a certain way for them because they feel so entitled that you should be treating them like the gods of Egypt!

I had two men who asked me what I do as a hobby when I am not at work. So I told them that I was an art student. These men then demanded that I get a pencil and paper, and draw them while they eat their pancakes.

One day, a famous retired basketball player came in to the cafe, and everyone went crazy for him. This basketball player asked if he could be sat in a private spot, so the manager obliged and sat him on the patio, where no one else was sitting. Well, some ghetto ladies at one of the other tables asked me if I could go back to the patio to get his autograph and a selfie for her. She even proceeded to hand me her phone for the picture. No joke, this woman wanted me to ask him if he could take a selfie on her phone. I explained to her that I could not do it, and that I had to get back to my tables (she wasn’t even sitting in my section). This woman grew angry and got very loud, calling me every name in the book! I just walked away.

I had a lot of crazy customers in that place. The food was super good, though.
