I bring a bowl of hot water. The man pours ketchup in it to make his own tomato soup.

I questioned by boss after. They said that some of the regulars don’t have extra money other than to buy their beer so making their own tomato soup means they eat free and don’t have to tip a server.

I didn't care about not getting a tip. I just found it extremely depressing.
