How has my MIL offended me…’let me count the ways’.

When my then fiance (now husband), and I told his parents that we wanted to get married, she told him, “I'm too tired for all this! You need a younger and cuter bride!”. My FIL was happy for us and said we are a good match.

Then, after our 1st daughter was born she announced that we were done having children. Mind you she had 4. After our 2nd son was born (I had a son beforehand) she again announced that we were done this time bc our children aren't cute.

For my peace of mind and the health of our marriage we moved away and she blamed me for taking away her baby, (he's the baby of the family), but after 3 years of being away I called her for mother's day and told her thank you for raising a good man, bc he's a wonderful daddy and a great husband. She finally said she liked me. She passed away 2 years later. We moved back to take care of his dad.
