It depends on where you buy them. The prices for lab stones has been coming down because they can produce a lot of them in about 2 weeks so the market is getting saturated with them. All of these stones are man made. They're called lab created, man made, synthetic. The earth only produces a certain amount of diamonds per year and that amount has been going down every year. I'm personally not a fan of lab stones. Jewelers can say they're real and they're exactly the same as a natural diamond. They're not. If there's a test you can do that can tell one is lab grown and one is natural they're not

But if you do your research you'll find that things have changed drastically with diamond mining. I'm not telling anyone that they shouldn't buy a lab stone or a natural stone. Many people just don't know the difference because jewelers that sell lab stones aren't going to tell you. Some have even tried to make people feel guilty about buying natural stones. I don't. And that's because I've done tons of research on todays diamond mining and I understand the changes they've made to protect the environment. Me personally, I don't own any lab made stones. If I get a diamond, ruby, sapphire, emerald, I don't want them to be lab made. But I'm not putting anyone down that buys any lab stones. It's a personal choice.

Very little if you are talking about the lab created diamonds that a diamond tester can not detect as being created in a lab instead of natural. However, lab created diamonds are in most cases flawless and very bright. Now if the natural diamond of say 1 carat were flawless and very bright to look at the price difference can be tremendous. There are very few large natural diamonds that are flawless. In most cases that’s how a jeweler knows the diamond is natural, it’s flaws.

The difference in price between lab-grown and natural diamonds because,

  1. Lab-grown diamonds cost 30-50% less than natural diamonds of the same size and quality.
  2. They are created in labs, avoiding the high costs of mining.
  3. Natural diamonds are rarer and take millions of years to form, making them more expensive.
  4. Both look identical and have the same quality.
  5. Lab-grown options are affordable and eco-friendly.
