Not to my knowledge, NO. In fact, I can further state this with confidence, post a detailed discussion I had with another AIR 1, we find this as a horrid misuse and blatant cheating with regard to future candidates. Unfortunately there is no law where we can sue them, much as we really really want to since they make millions by using our names and duping innocent candidates. The other person had just attended test series at the center, in order to just keep their prep in routine as they were working and the coaching center has been going around claiming that the person has cleared because of them- this when they had already been selected before and were in service when they went for test series in the first place!! In my case, I took coaching 5 YEARS BEFORE I cleared IAS and the coaching center has put up hoardings AROUND THE WHOLE COUNTRY claiming me!! And that after I did a blog post completely detailing their behaviour. They are not even decent enough to write that I did it 5 years earlier! Won't be able to explain the time gap.

So no. We haven't gotten paid and we would dearly like to sue them for using our name in this manner if we could. Unfortunately when you pay your first penny to them, they make you fill a form which says that they can use your name if you clear. Technically this should have a time limit, but it doesn't and so even if you do it in the next lifetime, if they can connect you as the same person, they will put up hoardings claiming you :) For my part, I put my experience in my blog and whenever someone sends me a query on this, I tell them the truth and I take to answering on forums like these. Not much more I can do. Also I know of only 1 coaching center which claimed me, if you know of any other let me know cause then I would be able to sue!
