In High School, my teacher said a proverb; “monkeys are ugly but their mothers love them.” This was supposed to mean that no matter how ugly a child is, their mother will still show love and affection. Then I thought for a few seconds and replied “how will they not, are they not also ugly?” She and the class burst into laughter.
