- Most people lives in apartments and the area usually ranges from 70m² to 130m².
- Kitchen and dining room are usually seperated since the way of cooking Chinese food can produce a lot of smoke.
- At least one indoor balcony where people can hang and dry their clothes. Laundry-drier is still not very popular in most Chinese families.
- Ourdoor balcony is rare. (I’m jealous of Italians playing music on their balconies during quarantine.)
- Bathroom is often small, so no bathtub. Even if the bathroom is big enough to let a bathtub fit in, people still don't use it that much since we are more used to only taking shower. My family had a bathtub for over ten years, but we only used it less than 20 times.
- It is usually 1 living room with 2 or 3 bedrooms.
- Most families have (at least one) air conditioners since summer is really hot in most areas of China.
