  • Kitchen and dining room are usually seperated since the way of cooking Chinese food can produce a lot of smoke.
  • At least one indoor balcony where people can hang and dry their clothes. Laundry-drier is still not very popular in most Chinese families.
  • Ourdoor balcony is rare. (I’m jealous of Italians playing music on their balconies during quarantine.)
  • Bathroom is often small, so no bathtub. Even if the bathroom is big enough to let a bathtub fit in, people still don't use it that much since we are more used to only taking shower. My family had a bathtub for over ten years, but we only used it less than 20 times.

  • Most families have (at least one) air conditioners since summer is really hot in most areas of China.
