Am I free from poverty? No. I am not in any way guaranteed I will not be poor and starving.

Am I free from illness? No. If I can't afford both insurance and a doctor, a small disease can kill me.

Am I free from forced labor? No, because if I miss work for even a day, my whole family can miss a week of groceries and supplies.

Am I free from tyranny? No. I do not directly elect my nation's leader and all choices for government positions represent the companies that employ me and are invested in one another.

Am I free from fear? No. My leadership and a loud, unintellectual minority has made my people hated, and I fear that others will not help the good people here even as things rapidly worsen.

Am I free from ignorance? No. My education and that of my children is so woefully inadequate next to other developed countries that under 30 years ago my state was teaching that the United States was the only democracy in the world, the continent was discovered by Columbus, and the way we lived was the envy of all. People forget that “freedom to” and “freedom of” are acts of permission. Freedom is the default state of answering to nothing and needing nothing. That means “freedom from” is the real measure of freedom, and we come up shorter and shorter…

By the wildest of imaginations, we are not free even for a minute.

Of course we have the potential to be free, but are not yet free.

That ‘You are already free’ is a verbal quagmire unless you have realised that freedom, in which case you would not be here posing this question. So, Beware!

All our struggle here is to realise that freedom.

We want money so we can have financial freedom.

We want vehicles so we can have freedom from tortuous commutes.

We want a trustworthy partner so we can have that freedom from doubting him all the time.

We want honour so we can have freedom from being disrespected.

We want knowledge so we can have freedom from ignorance.

We want health so we can have freedom from diseases.

We want heaven so we can have freedom from hell.

We want God so we can have freedom from despair.

Freedom is what we want and it is what we work for, whether we consciously realise this fact or not.

When we consciously realise this need for freedom and strive to realise it, then we are Yogis.

Happy Independence day! Brother.

The question rises the doubt of our freedom.

Freedom is not to break the law or commit sin.

Is the above sentence for all people of India or only for the common people?

We witnessed several violent events in our country.

I have seen in the past the individuals committing serious crimes and some one at the power center denying justice for the victims or the state.

Unfortunately, the state actors are now indulging in economic offence and several other crimes including unspeakable violence against the innocent people.

Our independence is for self rule.

Our leaders delayed independence on various grounds including the inequality among the people based on castes.

It took nearly 2 years to write the Constitution of India. More than 380 legal luminaries and prominent people worked through out day and night. It was appreciated as one of the best in the world. Irrespective of such claims Dr. B R Ambedkar the father of the constitution of India and first law minister of India resigned his post protesting against hypocrisy on certain description in the constitution. Such laws are still existing which curtail our freedom and self respect. The political vested interest at the center unwilling amend them but make new laws to give more power to rule with iron fist.

Do you really have freedom in America?

Yes and no. As a citizen I do have freedom to voice my opinion, ( I wish trump dies soon of a horrible disease), freedoms to earn and purchase as I choose, rights against unfair prosecution, freedom to do what I choose. But not every freedom. I can't smoke what I may want, where I may want. I am not free from unfair taxation. I am no longer free to obtain unfettered internet access. I have little input in Sunoco drilling a highly volitile pipeline only feet from my property. I no longer have protection from industrial pollutants in my air and water ( thank you greedy republican industrialists). I am not free to speak directly to my government leaders. I am not free to inhabit a community free from personal portable killing machines (guns). But I still have many major freedoms.

Where my freedoms falls short is in my employment choices. In corporate America, all the rules change. I can not speak as I choose, I can't set my own work schedule. I can't vote for my supervisors or bosses, I need permission to take personal time, and only with advance notice. I can't wear what I want. My only recourse is to quit, but that includes forefiting all pay, benefits and all health insurance, and I am then left to fend for myself. So for many working folks, we spend roughly 1/3 of our lives in a dictatorship with big penalties to exit the regime.

I have it good. I am not a minority so I don't feel their oppression. I am not poor so I am not heavily burdened with day to day struggles for survival. I had a good, private education. But I am very concerned for those less fortunate, for I see their freedoms being cheated from them constantly. I have very limited means to express my wishes to government leaders. I am in a very unfairly gerrymandered district, PA's 6th, which in the past has lead to my vote being effectively nullified with mathematical trickery.

So while I certainly have complaints, I am not blind to the fact that I am more free than most people on earth. I will continue my fight against oppression. “Don't tread on me.”

The quest for freedom is a paradox.

To begin with, it all comes down to what freedom is to you. To most, it is financial, to some it is physical, some mental and some metaphysical.

So here is where it becomes tricky, one gets the very idea of gaining freedom when there is a cage to escape from. It is here where, we look for the cage more than we look for the exit. We focus on the cage more than what is more accessible, our minds.

Once you convince yourself that the only freedom you'll ever gain, is only what you give yourself, the idea of freedom becomes hypothetical.

But I personally believe that it is extremely crucial for one to define their cages and gain their own freedom for it.

Simply put, super cliche advice, work on yourself and not the cage. Once this happens, freedom is simply a state of existence and not something to fight for.

You have the full freedom to do anything you want right now, even to kill someone else if you want to.

What you don't have is freedom from consequences. That's what people talk about when they say that they want freedom. They really mean that they'd like to do something without consequences. To have yin without yang, or light without shade.

This is obviously impossible as after all should you kill someone, other people will be very upset and will either try to kill you or get someone with authority to put you away for a very long time or even execute you.

For every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. This cannot be avoided. It's a fundamental law of the universe and applies across all social strata as it does across physics.

There's always a cost. Now manmade laws vary by degree and from place to place, some states are repressive and penalties are harsh for the most minor of infractions, other states are lenient and more compassionate, but none of them can actually take your freedom away, all they can do is threaten you or bully you into behaving well, like a good, model citizen, or attempt to apply a penalty should you do something they do not like.

But you'll always have the choice to do something that they don't mind or something that they'd rather you didn't do, and this makes you free.

Yes, and no.

America does indeed have greater civil liberties and rights, more freedom of information and openness and independence of thought, that the vast majority of Middle Eastern nations, for example, such as Saudi Arabia and Iran.

However — what is true freedom? Freedom in itself is to be “free” from “domination” — but not only physical domination, in terms of laws and regulations as such, but also mental, emotional and even spiritual domination.

What America lacks is true mental and psychological freedom. Look at the intense hatred on social media or even most online forums today (Quora is actually much better than some of them) — look at the deep and increasingly serious divisions in American society; the growing seriousness of mental and emotional problems, from a very early age; the hatreds between people from different outer and political background; the constant fighting and vicious bashing and name-calling and hatemongering between the left and the right and even those in between.

They are so trapped — almost like flotsam swimming together in a much larger river that is sweeping them every day, but who pay attention to nothing else but themselves.

Europe has reached a far higher level of political maturity — of psychological freedom, than most Americans. I go to some forums, and I am shocked by how seriously Americans take issues that well, seem, ludricous or largely irrelevant to the vast majority of Western and Eastern Europeans, as well as Asians, Latin Americans and Africans, many of whom are actually beneath the poverty level and struggling to make a daily living, to sustain their families. It is so sad, from a higher and more mature perspective, that so many people spend hours, days or weeks obsessing over trivial things such as these.

This world truly is far more intricately complex and multilayered than the “American” way of life (liberal or conservative from their view, both Democrats and Republicans seem to think that their form of liberalism and conservatism is far better than that of most other countries, for example), and I must regret to inform that America has squandered a tremendous amount of its former potential, so much so that other nations will now have to take the mantle that it could have once embraced. America could have really become something far more, uniting the nations of the world towards an age of true and ultimate freedom. But, well, look at the state of things today, and enough is said.

Individual freedom is NOT doing whatever you like, without regard — or very limited and minimum regard for others — it is seeing yourself as part of the greater whole, and realizing that no man is an island, and that YOU have a basic moral duty to your neighbors, to your community, to your world, NOT just your personal sense of self, a kind of selfless and enlightened responsibility based on higher and universal principles. Freedom is found by serving others with an open heart — by listening to their ideas, by admitting you might be wrong on certain issues you have always believed you are right, by remaining calm and balanced, and by embracing change when it is right to do so.

Much of the conflict in the United States comes from unresolved and contradictory aspects of people’s personal psychologies — of the black-and-white, dualistic and simplistic sense that if I am right on this issue, I must be right on all issues, and if they are wrong on a specific issue, they must be wrong on everything, and I should reject them entirely. So many hardened hearts, so much anger from both sides — I myself am shocked at how many people on both parties, and it is both parties who are completely unable to engage with the other side as equals or in any real sense of cooperation, I am shocked because there are indeed liberals, even online, who are truly as close-minded, strongly emotionally driven and absolutist as some conservatives.

Yet true freedom — psychological freedom — is NOT reacting negatively to people, even those with completely different and opposite opinions to yours, by NOT reacting at all actually. By being so free and non-attached that you are NOT threatened whatsoever by their views, but you are still willing to pause and listen, to sometimes challenge your old ways of thinking, and to engage and communicate with them in a mature and constructive manner. By recognizing that perhaps — it is possible that we are both wrong about a specific issue in different ways, or conversely perhaps by recognizing that we are both right, from different perspectives.

By connecting with different individuals on a deeper level of empathy, not even as Americans, but simply as fellow human beings — not as Democrats or Republicans, or people from specific races, belief systems and ethnic backgrounds, by not judging them automatically by their political backgrounds or beliefs but judging them by their character, what they have inside, by their sense of sincerity and integrity or lack thereof, by their “hearts”. Then and ONLY then then can American society reach forward into a higher form of community, a higher form of individual freedom, based not upon service to the self, but service to the whole.

Do we really have freedom?

No! You are constrained by obvious limitations, such as obeying the laws of your community/society. As an adolescent you must attend school at set hours. Act according to the “rules” established by school authorities, show respect to teachers, behave appropriately in class, You must, as an adult pay taxes on time; fill out forms requested by government departments. Have a job with established work hours, be punctual. Behave in a manner required by your bosses, be deferential, show respect. Drive within restricted speed limits, not break the road rules, and pay fines when you break these rules.

As a social creature you are restricted by habits, whereby you are constrained from acting out in a disorderly manner. There are normative behaviours which are expected of you, like respect for elders, acceptable behaviour in school/ work environments, behaving in an orderly manner; not being a bully or a thug. To oppose any of these rules will cause you to suffer a penalty of some form. From physical restraint, to financial costs, or penal servitude.

There are many normative rules that we do not even question. Like staring at someone, walking on the right side of the sidewalk, not jay walking, stopping at lights till they turn green. not pushing in to a line of waiting people. being deferential to authorities.

All of these are aimed at social cohesion, so they are not “bad” in themselves but they are restrictions on your personal freedom to do as you choose. Of course you can reject these “rules” but there are consequences. So you are free to do, as long as you stay within the written and unwritten rules of being a social member.

There are also “freedoms from” Freedom from bullying, harassment, sexual exploitation. So you have some rights, as long as you “play the game”.

So do you have freedom? Not really, and because you are a social creature and need to live among other beings, we all need rules and enforcement to maintain these rules; from a frown from an adult at perceived bad behaviour, to a fine for speeding or incarceration for more serious crimes/misdemeanours.

Freedom is an abstraction. You might say that some societies allow their members more freedom than others, but it is alway a relative matter and never an absolute. In fact an absolutely free human being could not survive very long (except in fictional movies and videos). As social beings we must give up a degree of our freedom in order to live with the unknown number of citizens you pass each day on the street. You may never know them and yet, you allow them and they allow you a degree of freedom to go about your life without harassment or injury.

Do we really have freedom?

Not anymore, especially since the World Trade Center got attacked. I lived in NYC and I remember the days when we could go into a public building and just walk freely to visit the businesses we were heading to. Now we have to go through a security check to get a pass. If you work there you need to get a working ID to prove you are employed there.

Children used to go outside to play with other kids without adult supervision, only now all they do is play with their video games or chat online to people they’ve never met. There’s no such thing as privacy in our country, either, thanks to how far our technology has advanced. Now we can video anything someone does right from our cell phones and send it out for all the world to see. Today’s children accept how things are since this has always been a part of their lives. They have no concept of what real freedom was like when we actually had it.

Also, our government has all kinds of information about our lives and can retrieve whatever they want instantly. Granted, thanks to the technology we have today there are many more advantages than we had before, but it has also taken away the actual human communication we used to have. I was born in the 60’s, so I got to live through both worlds. I’m old enough to remember the way things were like in the past, but young enough to understand and accept how it works today. I was a young adult when technology was still in it’s infancy and have been able to keep up the pace with the way things are today, and it’s so very different than it used to be. Our country and our world has changed dramatically. So I can tell you for a fact that, no, we no longer have the kind of freedom we once had before.

First of all, we celebrate Independence Day on 15th August every year because our country got independent from the British Government on 15th August 1947. That day reminded us of the freedom fighters who sacrificed everything even their lives to gain independence from the British Government. But the question that arises is that- did we get the real freedom, are our real gems i.e., our freedom fighters really satisfied with the freedom we have today?

well, the Answer is no we've not got the real freedom.

Many people in India are illiterate and believe that studying won't take them further in life…which makes them have a narrow mind which later on makes them start judging people, criticising people on the basis of everything…on their gender,caste, freedom, studies etc. Being literate gives us a broader mind with broader idea about life and our rights…education tells us our right that we have and deserve do that if anyone tries to take our right we can case a file about it.

Can we really call our country 'India' independent where numerous women,not only women but even small babies are being raped,abused, facing acid attack, facing domestic violence. The girls of our country are fearing to walk alone freely in the streets- now can we call that freedom. India is considered as one of the most dangerous country for females which is true. Now it is our job to make our country independent by getting rid of all these. By educating ourselves so that the next time all the citizens of India can walk freely in any part of the country fearlessly and peacefully and a girl can wear whatever she wants to and feels comfortable to without being judged by people.

Our country will be independent only when we will treat all the society's of our country equal. The LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 community needs support from their parents, the community and shouldn't feel alienated from the society. They should be treated equally just like every other common man. Then only we can call our country independent.

Now the caste system…people still differentiate a lot amongs the caste people. Like for e.g. suppose I have been to a village, so we being of Brahmin didn't distinguish anything and talked with them freely and when it came to dinner time they themselve said that we are of low caste and we can't eat with you…so u see this…this is s true incident which happened with one of my friend.

They themselves think that they are different. I wonder why. They should come out of their so called low caste world and live their life happily and equally…they have soo many opportunities in most of the field. Well, personally I feel they should no more be given extra reservations…that was fine for 10yrs max…but now it's like soo many years and they are still getting it…They say we have equality but we don't. Suppose a person called A is of lower caste and person B is of general caste, now if also person B gets more marks than Person A that person will still fail to get a seat whereas that average student A will get the seat…my main question is why the hell to use this word caste…it should not be used…it should be rather banned which would solve this conflict of reservation and the inequality between the peoples too…

There are many other factors too like poverty and child labour…

We being the citizen of India should take the responsibility to change the system and make our country truly independent so that the sacrifice of our great freedom fighters and many citizens of India is justified.

Simply not. Freedom as a concept, does not, cannot exist unless constraints exist. Freedom exists as freedom from constraints. Without constraints, freedom does not exist.

Adam, alone in the garden of Eden, can be viewed as perfectly free, as having absolute freedom. However, without any constraints, he cannot be “free from any constraint”. He cannot exercise any “freedoms”.

As soon as God addresses Adam, and demands obedience, Adam begins to have freedoms, to go against the constraints imposed by God.

The presence of and the existence of a constraint provided Adam an opportunity to be free of the constraint. Before the constraint existed, Adam could not be free of that constraint, because the constraint did not exist.

True freedom, without any constraints, is not logical. There is nothing to be free from. The concept of freedom does not cannot exist without the concept of a constraint. As soon as a constraint exists, true freedom no longer exists.

It never did exist.

True freedom requires constraints to exist as freedom. But, I a constraint exists, true freedom is not present.

Therefore, true freedom is illogical, because it creates an impossible situation, where freedom cannot exist.

Tommorrow is Independence day.

We have completed 70 Years of Independence . We got Independent of British rule. Today Indians rule us . So we call ourselves Independent. But True Independence is far far to be acquired. We actually need to be Independent of these so called Indian rulers who are responsible for 72 small kids death in a government hospital of Gorakhpur. And the count is still increasing.

We follow west leaving behind our own rich culture. We have stopped respecting elders. We have stopped wearing clothes. We have no respect for other religions. We feel we are great but its just that feeling and nothing else. We are secular but actually we don't respect secularism.

Two days back my driver's wife was almost severely ill might have led to a bad news. When suggested, he took his wife to a private hospital in commercial capital of India-Mumbai. But hospital refused to take admission just because their appearance is of poor and they did not have 40000 Rs to deposit. We had to intervene, The hospital was least bothered that the person is brought in a condition of approaching death and still this attitude. Is this the country we are progressing into where even hospitals close their doors for poor. And condition of government hospitals is so bad, that death is inevitable there. I was thinking of all the parents of kids in gorakhpur hospital, knowing that death may consume their poor little kids, still they can't even think of shifting their kids to private hospitals? They can't afford it. What they might have gone through. Holding dead bodies of small kids just because of negligence. Is life not given any value. These parents had to see their kids suffocating to death just because of lack of oxygen that too in government hospital , and just because they are poor, they don't have right to live.

If this is India, then no reason to be happy about Independence. I am not going to take part in any flag hosting tomorrow. Nothing to be proud.

In Shrimad Bhagavat Gita in chapter 4, Krishna said that " Whenever there is decay of righteousness, whenever there is exaltation of adharma, for protection of dharma and destruction of evil, for sake of establishing righteousness , I am born from age to age”.

Tomorrow is Shree Krishna's Birthday. It is said that god is in every particle. If that god in each one of us gets activated then that is enough. No need for god to take birth.

I wish God give all us strength to stand as a nation to be able to be the change what we wish to see in the society as guided by the Father of our nation.

Seventy one years have passed by since our country got Independent on 15th August 1947 when our First Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru raised the Indian national flag above the Lahori Gate of the Red Fort in Delhi. But have we really achieved Freedom in the right way? Being Independent doesn’t mean getting rid of British Rule and coming under Democratic Rule but it means we should have right to Freedom, Right to Education and Culture, Right against Exploitation and Right to Equality.

The right to Freedom have been exploited to such an extent in our country that women are not safe in their motherland. They are neither safe in the day nor in the night .By women I doesn’t specify a particular age group but I mean to say all the infants, baby girls, teens and matured girls who fall in this particular criteria. Every day we are hearing that in some other parts of the country girls are getting molested, kidnapped and finally murdered. When the clock strikes nine, women usually don’t come out of their home because of the fear that something will happen to them. Why this fear is still prevalent in women’s mind? The country will become Independent only when this fear will be removed from the minds of women.

The problem is not persisted to only one segment but it is also revolving between the Hindus and the Muslims. Religion doesn’t teaches us to fight ,to make partiality ,to abuse someone and to disrespect someone’s culture. Then why are the followers of Religion breaking these rules and creating mishaps which is against the norms of the society. Demolition of Babri Masjid is one of the most common topic used by the politicians to open the old wounds and hurt the mental sentiments of the people. By doing this we are giving disrespect to our Great freedom fighters who sowed the seeds in our mind to live in an Independent Country.

So many years have passed by but people don’t have the right to express their feeling in front of everyone. We can take the example of Ms Gauri Lankesh who was shot dead by Radical Hindu Nationalists just because of her fearless and outspoken activities. When these examples come into view, people automatically loses the confidence of going in front and speak out their heart.

Some societal rules are such worthless that people after getting their right to freedom cannot enjoy their right to education. Society don’t accept people who are pursuing Education after forty years of age. Is Education limited only to a particular age and to a particular degree. If the purpose of education is to get a job and a degree, then we are loosing the real site of the education. Education is the backbone of the Democracy but then what’s the point in being educated when we cannot allow people to enjoy their rights.

We celebrate Independence Day by paying tribute to our army, respecting the cultures of our Indian Society, giving awards to people for their fearless contribution to society. But why the contribution is limited to one day itself? On 15th August we give respect to our country but on the other days we get back to our usual work and same rules of the society follows. We take oath on an Independence day that we will abide by the rules of the constitution then why don’t we take an initiative to make the people aware of their Rights, aware of their Freedom. In this way our country will become Independent and we will pay tribute to our Great Fighters.

I saw a free bull on the farm, powerful and angry enough to fear the passerby and other animals, and I also saw a tiger acting like a weak puppy in a circus, and freedom made them exchange places.

Most of us are the well-trained caged tiger who is worse and weaker than cattle, but we are still a tiger and will always be; ultimately, it's our choice to let go of the training and be fearless and walk alone on our terms in the forest and mark our territory.

You are not free; you appear free, but the world guides you on everything; it can easily extract any action or reaction from you; if it wants you to hurt someone, all it needs is a word; if it wants you to not succeed, it brings changes, if it wants you to become depressed, it needs one horrible event, if it wants you to ruin your years, it needs a glimpse of any beautiful thing, if it intends to loot you, it needs one lucrative offer. You are a puppet in its hands; it can easily make you addicted or weak. But why? Is it the world, or is it your emotional weakness? Nobody forces you into anything. How can you blame the world or fate if you decide for yourself?

They present what they wish to and don't force you, but you react the way they want to, acting like their pet.

What if you stop giving immense importance to attachment, money and ego? What if you learn to say no to your senses? What if you live for a good life and not an enjoyable day? What if you refuse to act negatively towards negative stimuli and save yourself from the expected reaction and loss? What if you choose to think before reacting? What if you stop the urges and instincts?

You win the battle. Your fate and nature are forced to bow down to you; you create your own path made of cement and strong stones leading to a good life and refuse the beautiful-looking turns or easy-looking paths meant to ruin your journey. It's a choice, sir/madam; it's upon you; you are given 100% freedom to choose.

Show ego and determination to the worldly stimuli and not your inner self. Enjoy the freedom you already have by default but leave to fit into the world.

Freedom is basically not being bound by any constraints. It is a relative concept. There isn't any such thing as absolute freedom. No matter how rich, healthy, intelligent, physically attractive you are, there will always be something that you can't do.
To a person who can't go out of a room, he/she doesn't have freedom. To another inability to leave a country is absence of freedom. Not being allowed to wear what we like, do what we want or anything that has such constraints will be thought of as absence of freedom. Like I said, it's an abstract concept.

Even though you might have everything you want, there are still constraints. You need sleep. You can't fly. You can't live under water. For someone one of these conditions might be the necessary condition for freedom.

In his book, Man's search for Meaning, Victor Frankl describes how people in concentration camps found their freedom and their meaning in life. To us that would seem absurd and impossible.

The only thing that fits the definition of freedom is human mind's ability to think. There is no limit to what you can think and how much you can think. You can create worlds and universes with that little thing in your head.

So for me, freedom is the ability to think.

A few days ago Hon'ble SDM Suratgarh ordered me to take charge as BLO from my fellow teacher due to his family problems.

His family problems - He is a resident of Suratgarh, very close. His wife is a lecturer. He has a son who studies in class 7 or 8.

My family problems - I'm a resident of 200 kilometers away from here. My family lives in Jaipur. I am 53 year old and less healthier than my fellow teacher.

Our SDM made arrangements for others also and the same order shows that almost all of them were asked about their desires and I was the only enforced person.

When I appealed Hon'ble SDM that I had more problems than the person who I was going to relieve, she rejected my appeal at once. Through RTI when I asked about the family problems with my fellow teacher and also that how she would know that I had lesser family problems than him, she answered in such an ambiguous manner that it appears a simple matter of c………

There is a clear provision that blo should be appointed to a person who is well aware about the periphery in which he lives.

In my school there is posted a lab assistant but no laboratory is there. There is a Pti who never make arrangements for playing the students and also there is a principal who never visits school. Why any of these can not be made blo?

Freedoms in the the eye of the beholder for a child almost all, only want to be broken of the chains there superiors lock them down only to prepare them for the so called journey of life that if done well! there superiors share there knowledge to create a independent hopefully able to create a some what adult that can fit into society and finacialy gain success to attract a mate to share and repay there debt brought on by there creation.

Freedom is what ever you call a small time slot to some. But to those who are ignorant and believe someone ows them something shurly shows that freedom is with in each of us only thru life's journey shall you truly see and treasure or resent its gifts.

Freedom is the natural state of being. Personal independence is a situation involving little or no control by others. So if you are not controlled by others, then you have the potential to be free. But there are other steps. Once free of external controls, you must then free yourself of unwanted internal controls. You see, society has conditioned us for control, even when no one else is there to enforce that control.

Ultimately, the truly free person we have no external control and will have also freed their mind of most conditioned controls by their society. He or she will instead follow a spiritual, moral and/or authoritative code of our own choosing. This will be our only limits, all chosen and none forced on to us.

There was a lot of public discourse about this in the early 20th Century. It’s explained well in the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Robert E. Howard, and later by Robert A. Heinlein. It’s also covered to some degree in the Bible in the Book of Judges.

It depends on our mindset. As it is various political parties have made a Kheema out of our lives so we as citizens of free India have to think twice about any issues. My vision of childhood is getting now realized with Atma nirbhar Bharat & Make in India. That time we were happy with closed market and everyone had jobs . There was no caste or religion difference. SC and ST had 19% and we were happy family.

It has something close; something that is nearly freedom. Something that is often mistakenly considered a synonym for freedom. But it is actually subtly different, and in its pure form, would be just about the closest a world of more than one human could get to having pure freedom.

What the US has to date is, by far, not the perfect pure form. This something is not perfectly distributed, but we are working on it, in fits and starts, as has been our way.

There are some occasional setbacks, but the long term trend is encouraging. It is a continuing work in progress.

We are indeed Independent, because we are ruled by Law enacted by our Parliament and the three Pillars of Legislature, Executive and Juduciary are accepted as Supreme while the fourth pillar called the Media is also strong to give wide and varied opinion against or favouring the ruling Govt. We are a great Democracy, where diversified opinions and Idealogies prevail, inspite of their counter productive natures. No other Country would have tollerated the type of criticism that was aimed at our PM and Opposition leaders, a testimony to freedom of expressions. We have accomodated, even the Tugde or Divide India group, which continues to enjoy protection from existing Law to express their most objectionable opinions against National unity. The most corrupted Politicians are given enough Legal methods to defend themselves, in spite of clear cut Public opinions against them. Even those who wage War against our Nation through Terrorism are prosecuted and punished only after due legal process.

Above all, we encourage people to doubt and question the status of our Independence, which freedom, they may not get in other countries.

Summing up, I would declare that We are indeed Independent and free .
