Cutting out python from the original question? I can deal with that.

Powershell is what you need to learn then. Batch file programming is OK, but everything seems to be moving to Powershell (I’ve already moved some utility things that I originally wrote from BASIC (which was working fine, but no longer works in the 64-bit world I know inhabit) to Powershell. And, it works faster, too.

Powershell is a more amped up version of CMD.EXE (Batch file). And if you must run a .bat file, you can actually call CMD.EXE and run the batch file. And if you know some batch file stuff, it generally works in Powershell.

Powershell is much more powerful than CMD.EXE. And nowadays, everybody has it, even if they don’t know it. Unlike the early days when I played with it after installing, and promptly forgot it (before I lost my BASIC interpreters and compilers). So, it should be everywhere on any Windows machine.
