I have both books and they are great introductory books with lots of visuals. If you are looking to learn the fundamentals behind web development, then these books are a great tool in introducing you to basic concepts. They will not, however, be enough to have “complete knowledge” of web development.

There is no one way to do web development. The web is a beautiful and flexible world in which many tools are used to create it. It is impossible to have complete knowledge of web development. The best thing to do is to learn the basics of HTML and JavaScript (like these books and various websites would teach you), then try to come up with a project on your own and see how you can implement it.

Web development is not limited to HTML and JavaScript, by the way. Java, Python, or Ruby are perfect examples of this. How these all work separately or together is something you’ll discover upon your journey.
