The best book without a doubt is Bailey and Love but, it’s like Robbins you read in the 2nd yr - best book with great explanations but you can’t really reproduce those answers in the exams. Some topics like GIT surgery and general surgery you can read from this.
The book which I read is SRB manual of surgery- in this the topics are given in form of small paragraphs or bullet points which makes it easy to remember and reproduce in the exam. It is full of images, probably more than that in Bailey. Some topics have more information than Bailey. Essentially it is that to Bailey as what Ramdas Naik is to Robbins.
Other books are Manipal Maual of surgery and S. Das (Same author who’s practical book you read).
You have very less time as compared to work in hand for the final yr so, you have to choose the books thoughtfully. Just as you wouldn’t read Harrison and so settle for Archith Boloor similarly it’s SRB for surgery.
