My son was top of the class in everything the teachers had a hard time keeping up with him but all his teachers loved him until one year he moved to a class where the teacher didn’t like him. We never got to the bottom of it but she was being generally nasty to him so we had to go in to the school to sort it out, his teacher said he was awkward and he was falling behind. Of course the head teacher had all the previous reports from every other teacher which was contrary to what she was saying. In front of the head we told her that it was most likely her who had the problem and if she couldn’t teach our son then maybe she should not be teaching and should look for an alternative career. She scoffed and looked to the head for some support but on this occasion the head was with us and agreed that she should try harder to get on with him otherwise she would have to be looking at alternatives. The teacher then turned on the waterworks saying he was unruly but it didn’t wash. From that day on our son started to get back to where he was and everything improved . But it never got back to how it was she seemed to have crushed the enthusiasm out of him. He still made the grades for Uni but that teacher was a bad teacher for sure. Although my son did well in the end he could have done better if she had not have behaved the way she did.
