Well…This was funny to me but horrifying to everyone around me.

I was fully due. It was the week before Christmas. My husband was working and we were going to get the tree together at a cut-your-own farm the next day. However, there was a storm predicted for that day, it’s New England it snows here. I decided it was a good idea to go cut the tree down myself. Hey, I was really tired of everyone thinking I was fragile just ‘cuz I was pregnant, geez people. So here I am 40 weeks pregnant, more than a little overbalanced heading out to a rural tree farm, by myself. I get there. They give me looks but hand me the saw anyway. Normally I’d have walked out to the field but they had a hayride that made the loop of the property and I bowed to my pregnancy and took the ride out there. It was fun. I chatted with the driver and the passengers. We get to the field. We start to get off the wagon. I land one foot fine but the other landed on an uneven frozen lump of dirt. I over compensated and fell to my hands and knees. I’m laughing at my clumsiness but I hear shocked breaths and a short scream around me. Oddly, the scream was the wagon driver. My belly came close but never touched the ground. I was so padded in coats and mittens I practically bounced. Even though I told everyone I was perfectly fine, I had 4 men and 2 women helping me pick a tree, cut it down and haul it back to the wagon and eventually onto my car. I was rather embarrassed by all the fuss but it was fun to watch them all scramble to help.
