A friend told me this about her MIL:

They’d been married a few months when MIL came to visit. Husband says “Mom, would you PLEASE teach this girl how to darn socks?!”

MIL says “Bring me the socks.”

He brings a big bag of socks.

MIL throws them in the trash and says to her son, “Your wife has better things to do than darn your socks. Go buy new ones.”

Friend said that was the day she fell in love with her MIL! There are good MsIL, too, ya know.
