How much do bands cost to hire?

Literally anywhere from nothing (for neighborhood kids willing to play for the practice, exposure, and chance to meet girls) to a million dollars (for a big-name pop act with full stage show).

You are going to have to be more specific.

That’s it. You’ll likely be saving a bunch of money. Here’s a link to give it a try.

Consistently being in debt

If you’ve got $10K+ in debt (credit cards…medical bills…anything really) you could use a debt relief program and potentially reduce by over 20%.

Here’s how to see if you qualify:

Head over to this Debt Relief comparison website here, then simply answer the questions to see if you qualify.

It’s as simple as that. You’ll likely end up paying less than you owed before and you could be debt free in as little as 2 years.

Missing out on free money to invest

It’s no secret that millionaires love investing, but for the rest of us, it can seem out of reach.

Times have changed. There are a number of investing platforms that will give you a bonus to open an account and get started. All you have to do is open the account and invest at least $25, and you could get up to $1000 in bonus.

Pretty sweet deal right? Here is a link to some of the best options.

Having bad credit

A low credit score can come back to bite you in so many ways in the future.

From that next rental application to getting approved for any type of loan or credit card, if you have a bad history with credit, the good news is you can fix it.

I know bands that will play for a bowl of chilli and a couple of beers.

I am unclear about what you are referring to. When I hired a band to play with me on stage, I paid for their talent and time. Typically paying the drummer more because his load in/load out time was appreciably more. I paid extra for rehearsals, but I don't think that's the norm.

Time and talent.

Bands are generally self-contained. They have enough musicians to render the music they want to perform. They rehearse together, and sometimes even write together. Why would they use backing tracks? If there's enough members to write and rehearse the songs, why would they use backing tracks?

Have at least $500. Even the most desperate and needy of bands should get that much. That covers food and time and gas, and gives each member about $100 after.

That's cheap, a DJ with nothing more than an ipod and a mixing board will charge you.

Having been in a rock and roll band..

Anything less wasn't worth our time. Any band has a LOT of gear, even a classical three piece. That gear is expensive,

It depends on how good the band is and where they play regularly. It also depends on where you need them to play.

There really is no typical cost, because there's so many variables For example, your kid's garage band may want to play for free , just for the exposure. In the other hand, if Kurt Cobain should want to come out of hiding, bow that his throat has healed from making those wlwgant nasal screeches, then the skies the limit. He could fetch a billion dollars if he wanted to play for every Richie Rich growed up since the '90's. Only problem is at least one of them would be packing a gun.’

Live performance is the way bands make money in the download age, so I think it could be arranged.

Keep in mind that musicians' fees reflect preparation time, and a custom gig-specific set list will require a lot more time. Also, respect individuality and genre specialization - an outfit that does hard rock shouldn't really be expected to do synth pop like the Human League or big band arrangements along the lines of Frank Sinatra.

The cost of hiring a music band can vary widely depending on several factors such as the band's popularity, experience, location, the duration of the performance, and any additional services they may offer. On average, hiring a local or less well-known band for a small event might cost anywhere from $500 to $2000. However, for more established or famous bands, the cost can range from $5000 to $50,000 or even more for a single performance. It's best to contact specific bands or entertainment agencies for accurate pricing based on your event's requirements.

To break it down to a very simple level, the price is more than the hourly rate you might expect to earn in a more regular job to see for two reasons:

  • The band has a lot of expensive equipment that must be bought, maintained and transported.
  • The band isn’t able to perform for 40 hours a week.

The first is maybe obvious. Musical instruments, sound equipment, lighting equipment and everything else that’s required to put on a concert are expensive. Over time, they wear out and must be either maintained or replaced. They’re heavy and bulky, and need to be transported to and from venues.

If the band is a very busy one, they might play a couple of concerts in a week. There’s not much point doing more than that, because you only get big audiences on Friday and Saturday nights. That limits the earning potential of most bands to a few hours a week at best.

Even if a band isn’t expecting to make a lot of money by playing gigs, they’re still making a substantial commitment of their time and resources. They still have to practice for hours for each gig, and that time must also be reflected in their earnings on the night.

Being in a band playing for $600 a set in local clubs is no way to get rich!

When booking bands for Scottish dance events in and around Edinburgh, I could expect to pay them…

Local gig Solo musician on off peak night 60–80 pounds, 100 if more than about 20 minutes drive to venue

Band on off peak-night 100 pounds a person for the evening

Friday/Saturday night. Add 50% and book well in advance.

That is with built up contacts, and co-ordinating set lists an appropriate degree in advance- days to weeks, depending on complexity. Without the contacts, add another 10% at least.

Yes indeed. The Eagles.

Truth be told, Bernie Leadon should be included, too:

And so should Don Felder:

The last two ones, however, did not sing on songs that became huge hits like the previous five Eagles members (or former members, mind you). Leadon’s most famous song might be a slow, cute country piece (Train Leaves Here This Morning), whereas Felder’s contribution as a lead vocalist features only one song (Visions).

By the way: legend has it, Don Felder was due to sing lead on Victim Of Love, too, but his performance was deemed not suitable to meet the Eagles’ standards. Irving Azoff (the band manager) took him out for lunch while Don Henley sang and recorded the song instead.

You know, when there are so many lead vocalists within a band, stercus accidit.
