the problem is all the bands I just mentioned have very different sounds there is no unified sound for Spanish speaking countries because they are bands that just stock around, today drill and hiphop are way more popular than rock it seems we are at a low point for rock and all the hiphop producces is garbage so hopefully we will have a new sound in the coming years.

So this is my first legit popular tribute band I am booking. Normally I can book a local punk band easily but when landed this project I got very nervous. This band would be great for a casino or other popular events. This band lives across the country so I want to be the pay be worth it to the band AND for the venue. I know with some advertising or some ticket sales, it would be great for both parties. Any tips or pointers would be helpful. Thank you !!!!
How much have you got.
I know bands that will play for a bowl of chilli and a couple of beers.
On the other hand, I guess Taylor Swift might ask for a the thick end of a million dollars.
To break it down to a very simple level, the price is more than the hourly rate you might expect to earn in a more regular job to see for two reasons:
- The band has a lot of expensive equipment that must be bought, maintained and transported.
- The band isn’t able to perform for 40 hours a week.
The first is maybe obvious. Musical instruments, sound equipment, lighting equipment and everything else that’s required to put on a concert are expensive. Over time, they wear out and must be either maintained or replaced. They’re heavy and bulky, and need to be transported to and from venues.

If the band is a very busy one, they might play a couple of concerts in a week. There’s not much point doing more than that, because you only get big audiences on Friday and Saturday nights. That limits the earning potential of most bands to a few hours a week at best.
Even if a band isn’t expecting to make a lot of money by playing gigs, they’re still making a substantial commitment of their time and resources. They still have to practice for hours for each gig, and that time must also be reflected in their earnings on the night.
Being in a band playing for $600 a set in local clubs is no way to get rich!

Do you prefer Latin artists for live concerts?
I don’t get to see many Latin artists. Some religious music is sung in Latin and a few others have used it for historical accuracy. Otherwise, I don’t really care which language someone sings in.
I assume you’re the promoter? Each band will have its minimum performance fee, and that dollar amount should be no secret for the promotor. On top of that fee, you would need to determine costs for sound (PA and sound person) and lights, as well as any travel and lodging. Those are the basics for hiring the band. You’d obviously need to balance that total cost against ticket prices to ensure everyone, including yourself, gets paid.
As for dos and don’ts. Do make sure the band is paid and treated at least fairly well (feeding them can go a long way to that end), word travels fast and if you ever

As for dos and don’ts. Do make sure the band is paid and treated at least fairly well (feeding them can go a long way to that end), word travels fast and if you ever want other bands to book with you, then be cool to the bands you initially work with. Don’t speak poorly of other bands or venues, for the same reason. But really, it’s all just entertainment, it’s really hard to screw up booking a band that’s even mildly popular, it’s all just about moving the money around into the proper places until you can collect your share at the end of the night.
Any specific questions, feel free to hit me up. I regularly perform throughout Texas in 1,000+ seat venues with multiple tribute bands. Its hokey, but tons of fun.
Probably something by Agustin Lara, like “Solamente La Vez” (You Belong To My Heart), “Noche de Ronda,” “Tesoro Mío,” or “Piensa en Mi.”
Other options might be "La Barca De Guaymas," “Tu Solo Tu,””Quizas, Quizas, Quizas,” or “Perfidia.”

There was a band way back then called Baron Rojo. They were a Hard Rock band who made made some Awesome albums in the 1970’s. Loved that band. I had their vinyl albums in my collection.

It depends on how good the band is and where they play regularly. It also depends on where you need them to play.
Have at least $500. Even the most desperate and needy of bands should get that much. That covers food and time and gas, and gives each member about $100 after.
That's cheap, a DJ with nothing more than an ipod and a mixing board will charge you.
Having been in a rock and roll band..
Anything less wasn't worth our time. Any band has a LOT of gear, even a classical three piece. That gear is expensive, complex, and heavy. Moving my band around for a show needed my full pick up truck bed, and another SUV crammed with crap.
How much is your extension cord? Mine is $150, because it is also a rack mounte

It does the exact same thing as, but it's a $100
Etc etc
How much do bands cost to hire?
Literally anywhere from nothing (for neighborhood kids willing to play for the practice, exposure, and chance to meet girls) to a million dollars (for a big-name pop act with full stage show).
You are going to have to be more specific.
Live performance is the way bands make money in the download age, so I think it could be arranged.
Keep in mind that musicians' fees reflect preparation time, and a custom gig-specific set list will require a lot more time. Also, respect individuality and genre specialization - an outfit that does hard rock shouldn't really be expected to do synth pop like the Human League or big band arrangements along the lines of Frank Sinatra.
When booking bands for Scottish dance events in and around Edinburgh, I could expect to pay them…
Local gig Solo musician on off peak night 60–80 pounds, 100 if more than about 20 minutes drive to venue
Band on off peak-night 100 pounds a person for the evening
Friday/Saturday night. Add 50% and book well in advance.
That is with built up contacts, and co-ordinating set lists an appropriate degree in advance- days to weeks, depending on complexity. Without the contacts, add another 10% at least.
almost every band does this, but it isn't public. Bands play private gigs all the time, for super rich folks. Apparently, Huey Lewis and the news have been doing almost exclusively this for the last 30 years. They never broke up, or went away.
bands don't talk about this, as it's perceived as 'selling out', but every band has done it. For a million bucks, you can get any rock band in America to play your backyard. This site has quite awesomely amassed exactly what big national bands charge for private events.

You can place an ad that you are looking, go to a local talent agency and ask or go to a venue that the band is playing at and try to talk to them about playing for your wedding. Remember, they more than likely will have a set fee and all members of the band and crew will need to be included in your # of meals needed.
I am unclear about what you are referring to. When I hired a band to play with me on stage, I paid for their talent and time. Typically paying the drummer more because his load in/load out time was appreciably more. I paid extra for rehearsals, but I don't think that's the norm.
Time and talent.
There are a lot of factors that go into hiring a band. Not all of these will appear all the time, but the following list is a good “ballpark” of expectations:
- Travel costs of getting to the venue, including but not limited to gas and hotel/lodging (often in the hundreds of dollars)
- Rider and/or food - whatever means through which you’re facilitating a workable performance from the band
- Noise policy/sound ordinance fees
- The actual performance from the band (enough to cover the cost of any overhead the band might have, as well as take-home pay for the band themselves [This is usually the bulk of the

- Cushion for merch fees (if applicable)
- Any unforeseen taxes, equipment rentals/repair costs and/or miscellaneous fees
So, as you can see, costs can add up pretty quickly. This is just a sampling of costs; there may be others depending on the band, venue or event in question.
I’ll be polite - If you need to ask this question here, professional musicians are probably not going to be so interested in forming a band with you.
Ask around for recommendations. Live bands will cost more than hiring a DJ and will need to have breaks during their ‘sets’ so will probably play recorded music duro g that time. They will have a limited ‘set time’ and may not be able to play specific songs your guests may request. You will also have to provide them with food & drinks.
Normally the going rate is like 50.00 per band mate plus expenses. If it's a well known band, better established they may have a set rate, like 500.00 non refundable per gig.
