In college, I was working at a used sports equipment store. (Play it Again Sports)

An 8 year old comes up to the counter with a bike helmet he’d like to buy.

I scan the code and say “That will be $20, young man”

He says, “Ah man, well I only have $15”

Feeling bad, I respond “We have some cheaper helmets, why don’t we go look around?”

He responds “Hmm. Well look here, there are some dents on this helmet, why don’t you knock off $5?”

I smiled. Not bad for an 8 year old.

I called the manager upstairs and got approval.

Well done, kid. You are going to do just fine.
