Work from the simple to the complex. If your system is still under warranty skip down to step 3.
- Confirm your adapter cable is fully plugged in to the wall outlet as well as the back of the laptop. Also if the adapter has a cord that goes into an inline brick confirm that it is snuggly in on the brick side.
- Next move to a complelely different outlet preferably in an entirely different room.
By this point you have ruled out a loose cable and/or adapter. You have also ruled out a faulty outlet (if the behavior is still occuring.) - Go to the Acer website and find out how to get into your laptop’s diagnostics and run them. If you get an error message of any kind note the message and where in the diagnostic test it came up. Then call Acer support and give them the information.
This is how an IT professional would approach the situation. I have had defective adapter cables, I have seen defective outlets, I even found a motherboard connection to the adapter port that was defective. Replacing the motherboard was the only cure and on a four year old laptop I just backed up my data and restored it to a new laptop. You will have to do your own cost benefit analysis to decide if it is worth paying to fix or not. Good luck to you!! I hope this helps.

Something went wrong. Wait a moment and try again.
