In general, no. Their laptops tend to have good specs and low prices, but plasticky design and low build quality. The laptops I’ve owned, in ascending order of build quality, have been Acer, HP, Dell, and Asus.
My current laptop, an Asus with all-aluminum body and 1920x1080 screen, has lasted 4 years of very heavy use (and abuse) and is still going strong, so for the moment that’s my preferred brand (unless you’re willing to spend $1300 or so for a MacBook Pro).
But a lot depends on how you’re going to use the laptop and your personal preferences about screen, keyboard, and mouse. If at all possible, go to a store that has a good selection of laptops, e.g. Micro Center or Best Buy, and try them out.
