1. IIT’s have national level sports players. Yeah that’s right, being an IITian doesn’t imply that the only thing you did in your school days was studying physics, chemistry and mathematics.
2. IIT’s have professional level dancers, musicians and actors. If you have a doubt in this then watch Shape of You by cinesec IITR on youtube.
3. No one is involved in academics all day. Most of the students study stuff apart from academics and excel in that field.
4. Most of the IITians study on the last day(night) before the exams and still score good enough because of the relative grading(read the first few words of this point again).
5. Not everyone at IIT gets a 1 cr. pakage. Most of them have to settle for a job of 1 lac per month and for a 22 year old Indian, this is no less for a start and way better than most of the people at the same age.
6. IIT campuses are a beautiful place to be. They are green, clean, big and it is delight to walk around the campus at night.
7. Sleeping at 2 A.M is considered to be sleeping early at night.
8. IIT’s have people who smoke and drink a lot. That’s a hard truth.
9. Girls are a rare breed at an IIT and most of the IITians are single because of this reason and not because we are too much desperate.
10. We have to face a lot more competition after coming to IIT than we faced for getting here because everyone here is the topper of their school. Everyone here has heard the phrase “Tu to topper hai..IIT me bhi top krta hoga”(You were a topper in the school so you must be the same in IIT).
11. Depression is not rare in IITians and the administration has taken many steps to reduce this like sticking posters in every room having the number of counseling cell, suicide proofing the fan(If someone hangs, the fan will break), etc.
