I prefer Ron as he is in the books. This is not in any way a criticism of the actor—Rupert Grint played Ron well as he (Ron) was scripted to appear in the movies, which brings us to my main point.

Some of Ron’s best lines and ideas are given to Hermione or left out entirely. He is the “comic relief”, often to excess, in most of the films, especially 1–5. None of Ron’s hidden wit, bravery, and ingenuity are present in the films.
