This was a long time ago, when the metropolitan line (UK Underground) had these long 4 seater seats in a kind of booth type setting. You could fit between 6 and 8 folks.

It was late evening and this woman came in with a ‘huge’ paper bag and sat down to occupy one side on her own, and then began slowly taking out all of her food and neatly placing it onto the long seat opposite with napkins an’ all as if it were a table setting, before starting on what looked like a meal for 5.

Out came the ketchup pots, curry sauce, mayonnaise, then 3 large fries, then a box of chicken wings, followed by 2 corn on the cobs and other various bits of food. All nicely laid out across the entire seat.

As the train started to move she tucked a large napkin to her shirt and began the mammoth task of munching through it all, totally unphased by the other passengers on the train!
