Many developers get hired to write code in a certain language. Occasionally they write scripts and glue code in other languages, but from what I can tell, most people stick to a single language and its ecosystem.
In many cases that's the very best thing to do. So after ultimately needs to be written and if the situation is too unstable, then many people won't be able to keep up with all the changes and the instability will slow down productivity. It's not a bad practice to write in one language.
