Sri Narayana said: "O man, listen, I shall narrate for the protection of all embodied beings, the sublime character of Lakshmi, who has descended on the earth. Lakshmi, the goddess of all lords, Padma, the abode of auspicious virtues, full of compassion, the mother of the universe, residing in the chest of Vishnu, seeing the distressed beings submerged in the ocean of worldly existence, desiring to uplift them all with great compassion.
"In the delightful golden land adorned with ambrosial waters, covered with flowers, filled with swans and cranes, shining with the sounds of royal elephants and other animals. In some golden lotus, shining brightly in the month of Falguna, born in the northern direction, worshipped by all worlds. With four beautiful arms, beautiful limbs, with a face like the full moon, with large lotus-like eyes, adorned with yellow silken cloth, with hands holding the full bloomed red lotus, with a golden complexion, like the assembly of lightning, with a broad waist, adorned with lotus feet, with beautiful nose, lips like bimba fruits, and adorned with blue lotus on the head.
"With a slender neck, deep navel, with elevated two breasts, seated on a lotus, shining with a garland of lotus, with a diadem, necklace, armlets, bracelets, and rings shining, with the brilliance of youthful sun, with earrings shining, with divine sandal paste on the limbs, with the divine fragrance of musk, then Brahma and other gods, sages who are rich in austerities, Gandharvas and Apsaras, joyfully assembled, showering flowers and offering prayers, bowing down like a stick, offering various hymns.
- Brahmaji describes her vishwaroopa form.
"Then Brahma praised that mother of the universe, Lakshmi, with devotion, folding his hands, saying, 'Salutations, salutations to you, O revered goddess of all worlds, salutations to you, ruler of all worlds, salutations to you, the embodiment of the universe, salutations to you, the protector of the universe, salutations to you, with a thousand eyes, salutations to you, with a thousand limbs, salutations to you, with a thousand hands and feet, golden-hued, with deer-like eyes, made of gold and silver, adorned with a garland of gold and silver, O Lakshmi, bestower of all wealth, auspicious one."
With sidelong glances, O Goddess, the twenty-five worlds, in various ways, are created, sustained, and ultimately dissolved, attaining the highest bliss. O Consort of Vishnu, dwelling in the cavity of His chest for Your pastimes, You generate, sustain, and dissolve all the worlds, impelled by You.
Some rulers of the worlds, like Indra and others, take refuge in themselves, while others, such as animals, birds, etc., depend on others.
You are difficult to approach through the sense of smell, constantly nourishing all beings, the eternal goddess of Vishnu.

You alone are speech, Sharvani, Shachi; Swaha, Swadha; and also the destroyer, the gathering, Bhargavi, and Sarasvati.
You alone, O Lotus-eyed one, are all wealth, Rohini, Prabha, and the brilliance of the sun and the moon. In all the worlds, there is nothing other than You, O Lotus-eyed one!
You alone, O Lotus-eyed one, are seen as both the sentient and the insentient, for whatever is heard or seen in all respects, having pervaded everything, stands ten fingers above.

Taking various forms, You, the Lord of the universe, delight. You are equal to Govinda, the essence of good character, and the five aspects of radiance. You, being the five-fold form, make God happy, assisting in His work.
You have descended into this world for the sake of the welfare of all conscious beings, O beloved of the Lord of the stage! You have descended, O Mother, full of maternal affection! By starting from this point, with the help of Your grace, the ocean of the world can be crossed.
Living beings, floating on the waves of existence, are like a pair of swans swimming in the world. Those who worship You both with the feeling of being the remnant and as the ultimate remainder will become liberated from the bondage of existence and attain the supreme state. With eyes of compassion, O Mother, behold Your devotee.
You, Lotus-born one, adored by the gods, seated on a lotus throne, O Bhagavati, holding lotus flowers in Your hands. O Consort of Sri Vishnu! You are the Mother of the Universe, the birthplace of divine beauty.
O Mother, I take refuge in You, the lotus-faced one, the Mother, the abode of refuge.
