The thing about the haredi community is that their earning power is lower on average but they are satisfied with and even seek a lower standard of living. Here are some expenses they do without

-large houses (haredim often raise many happy and healthy children in small apartments)

-sometimes childcare (families live nearby each other so in some cases the older generations can watch the younger)

-eating out

-internet, Netflix, cable, etc… also expensive cell phones. Many haredim are old school on technology
