Learn to channel your inner John Wick
Along with being an awesome series of movies, there are some great lessons to learn
For those who have never seen any of the movies (WHICH YOU SHOULD!) John Wick is a retired assassin who is well known and greatly feared.
One of the most chilling scenes from the first movie is when the villain Viggo Tarasov explains who John Wick is:
“They call him "Baba Yaga." [The Boogeyman]…John wasn't exactly the Boogeyman. He was the one you sent to kill the fucking Boogeyman. John is a man of focus, commitment, sheer will”
When John Wick needs to accomplish a task, nothing will stop him. Ever.
In each of the movies he goes to greater & greater lengths to achieve the plans he’s laid out for himself. His danger isn’t just in his skill, but in his unwavering dedication to complete a task, without distraction, without fail.
How can YOU be like John Wick? 3 simple steps to get started (No Killing Involved):
1. Document your Goal
Nothing is real until it’s written down.
Make this step like the contract to yourself. This is your mark.
You are John Wick & you will not fail
2. Make Your Goal The Center of Your Universe
First thing in the morning, last thing before bed, reminders throughout the day
Sticky notes through out your house, change the background on your phone, write it in dry erase marker on your mirror (I’ve done this, VERY effective). It’s ok to become slightly obsessive.
If it is truly your one goal, make it your SINGULAR focus
3. Remove Distractions
You live in a world of alerts, pop ups, breaking news! Cut out the crap
Use that extra time to dedicate to your goals. There will always be essential tasks to complete, but when you realize how much time you really have in your day to focus on a goal you can become the most dangerous person alive
Be your goal’s “Baba Yaga”
