Because I wasn’t allowed to live my life. I was in my mid 20’s, my Dad had just passed. My mom was phoning me every 20 minutes. Even when I told her that I wouldn’t be home. I consulted a lawyer and found out that she had to respect my boundaries and if she didn’t I was fully in the clear to cut her off.

She never listened, I cut all contact. It’s been 8 years since I last spoke to her, I only regret not cutting her off sooner.
