About 1979 I worked for Lafayette Instruments, a company which made science teaching equipment. I had a call from H. Ross Perot, who wanted to buy a device called an Ames Window, which demonstrate some optical illusions. He said he wanted to use it at a staff meeting to show that things are not always what they seem.
