I (now 22, then 20) F,was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. On the day of my college farewell party, I distinctively remember myself asking my roommate “Do I look fat? I think my belly is getting bigger, It feels tight.” After a month I start facing problems with breathing,I thought my asthma is back (I had a history of childhood asthma). I (with my mom) went to a doctor saying I feel uncomfortable and my stomach looks big. He told my mother “You know today's generation, they sleep late, wake up late, doesn't eat on time. It's just acidity madam" Then we went to Apollo hospital in Vizag for second opinion and boom a few days later I was diagnosed with 3rd stage ovarian cancer. It was a kilogram of tumour with 1–2 liters of fluid in my abdomen. I had to go through total hysterectomy. My periods were very regular, I had no early symptoms except a slight weight loss if I think now. I advice that one should get themselves checked regularly for cancer if you have a family history. It really is late when you're diagnosed.
