I think it’s ridiculous and hypocritical.

I hear nowadays that Hollywood and movies are becoming whitewashed. All about how there is no diversity.

But those people ignore the reality of their ignorance and hypocrisy.

This is from a movie about Anne Boylen. On the right is a portrait of the real Anne. On the left is Anne from the movie.

It’s a movie that is supposed to be historically accurate.

Besides the portrait of Boylen, in no way would a British monarch marry a black women; it was the Tudor times.

They’re doing this with dozens of other white characters. What I don’t understand, if they want a black character, why don’t they just make a movie about African history?

History is history. If you want to be accurate, don’t cast a actor who isn’t close to being accurate.

My post was not meant to be racist, and from my perspective: it isn’t. There isn’t any stereotyping or prejudice. I’m not saying that black people shouldn’t play roles at all. I’m not saying that the movie was terrible because it was played by a black women.

I’m just saying, in my opinion: history is history.

I’d love to see more black representation in movies. Chadwick Bosmen played Black Panther brilliantly and I loved every scene he was in in the MCU. Chris Rock is a great comedian and actor and one of my favourite comedians. Will Smith is amazing, and an all round fun guy.

Jo Martin is a brilliant actress. Loved her on Doctor Who and can’t wait for her to show up again.

Morgan Freeman’s is the light of every movie he is in.

Samual L. Jackson is one of my favourite MCU actors. He played Nick Fury amazingly, and I just hope he continues to be in the MCU.

Idris Elba was brilliant in Luther. Loved that show because of his great acting.

Eddie Murphy. Loved his movies. Norbit, Nutty Professor, Daddy Day Care, Meet Dave, and Coming to America. Movies that I will remember for life.

And to be honest. I don’t know where the narrative: “there hardly is black representation in movies”, because, ask me a movie and I’ll probably tell you one with black main characters. Probably an Eddie Murphy movie as they’re just memorable.

I don’t think movies are washed with any demographic. I just think that they’re displaced. White people are not always in movies meant for black characters. And vice versa.
