A close second would be Richard Gere in Chicago. Can’t sing, can’t dance, who better to follow in the footsteps of Jerry Orbach??? Plus he annoyed the shit out of me by getting a credit at the end of Cotton Club for playing the cornet by himself, just as he got a credit in Pretty Woman for his piano work. It’s like Meryl Streep demanding a credit in Sophie’s Choice for learning to speak Polish in an accent that shows she learned English in England. I.e. it was his job.
