A self-proclaimed Feminist I met on Tinder.

It was weird as hell.

She took offence at my keeping door open for her. She said she didn’t need me to open the door for her because women are perfectly capable of opening doors for themselves.

I was stunned. I thought feminism meant something else like equal opportunities or non-discrimination!

“Alright….” I said, but the back of my head went, “Am I supposed to slam the door in your face right after I exit?”

I was pretty certain that anyone with manners would have held the door open for anyone after them, regardless of gender.

There were other things as well, like getting commented on my ‘patriarchal actions’ and whatnot (we were walking on the road and I told her to watch out for a car coming up from behind).

Two dates and that’s about it.

I’ve decided that cats are the best companions to have.
