We can not forget 1998 bomb blasts at Coimbatore, which targeted Advani. So many people were killed and injured. The left and DMK could not condemn the people who involved in it. As a result, Muslim women are worse off today than they were a few decades ago. Support for Islamic terrorism manifests itself in a setting where Muslims isolate themselves and confine their women to the burqa.

It is in this context that one remembers the great poet and nationalist Subramanya Bharati with immense pride. He wrote a Tamil essay titled "முகம்மதிய ஸ்திரீகளின் நிலைமை" nearly a century ago. The essay is in the form of a conversation between Bharati, his Hindu friend, and a Muslim friend. Bharati challenges the Muslim practice of wearing the burqa. He inquires his Muslim friend whether it is mandated in Islam. His Muslim friend asserts it is. Bharati then argues that spiritualism and social practices are different. One's spiritual pursuit remains a constant whereas social practices have to be reformed according to the time, place, and circumstances.

His Muslim friend disagrees. He says that Muhammad has codified every social practice in detail and those are immutable. Bharati expresses his disagreement deftly. He first expresses doubt that his Muslim friend is well versed with Islamic teachings and urges him to cross-verify. He then invokes the example of Muslim communities where women don't wear the burqa yet are pious in their religious observation. He then argues that a willingness to reform social practices doesn't weaken one's religious observances.

One may complain that Bharati was not direct in his criticism of Islam. One may complain that Bharati made practical concessions praising Jesus and Muhammad. Those complaints would have merit. Bharati was a great poet and intellectual. He was an original thinker. He wasn't faking it when he made those practical concessions. He truly believed that there is a spiritual core to all religions that is worthy of preservation. I disagree with him on that count but that is not the point of this post.

The point is that Bharati displayed the courage to challenge Islam and Muslims. He first explores the angle whether the Muslims were mistakenly veiling their women. He then concludes that even if Islam had mandated so, Muslim women should be liberated. In effect, he was forthright in denouncing the Islamic teaching in this regard. He didn't judge the practice based on what Islam taught. He judged Islam based on the practice.

That takes a lot of courage and honesty. If only other Indian leaders had followed the example of Bharati, we would've instituted an effective challenge to Islam and Christianity. A refusal to criticize those ideologies is a leftist malaise. The rise in terrorist sympathies is a consequence of this refusal. Muslims themselves are the first victims of Islamic beliefs and practices.

Although hub is too strong to describe the current situation of Kerala, it has undoubtedly become the breeding ground for extremists in India. These has led to a more orthodox and regressive version of Islam being practised here.

A total of 20 people have been arrested so far, while these numbers are disproportionately high in the Indian context,they are still low when compared to 400–600 fighters estimated to be from UK. So Kerala is not an ISIS hub, but it is certainly the hub of orthodox Islam.

My understanding is that the situation in Kerala became precarious because of the callous and indifferent attitude of the Hindus in general and Keralite Hindus in particular towards foreigners. The Malabar coast was and is famous for the production of spices, especially pepper, that the Arab traders took to the Middle East, parts of Africa and Europe. In a way spices from Kerala changed the course of history as the Americas were discovered by Columbus when he was actually trying to find a sea route to India so that Europeans could directly trade in this precious commodity. This is how the two faiths, Islam and Christianity reached the western coast of India, with Islam preceding Christianity by a few hundred years. Some Arab traders made Kerala their home, married local women, built mosques and started spreading the word of Allah. Many locals found in Islam a respite from the tyranny of Brahmanism and converted to the new faith in droves. Later, the Christian missionaries began proselytizing their faith and the downtrodden and disgruntled masses saw an alternative to Islam.

I doubt whether Kerala is prone to terrorist attacks, the reason being that with 22% Muslim population, Hindus there turn a blind eye to atrocities committed by Muslims, like chopping of the hands of a Hindu professor because he wrote something critical about the Koran. It seems Hindus in Kerala are terrorised by the Muslims, so much so that to appease them, they gave them the name “moplah”, Malayalam for son-in-law. These sons'-in-law killed, raped, maimed and tortured thousands of innocent Hindus and converted many more at the point of sword in 1921 Moplah rebellion against the British. Had it not been for the British, the carnage could have been a nightmare. The point I am trying to illustrate here is that the “fear” of violence seems to have affected the Keralite Hindu psyche and they have now a subservient attitude to people who were once lovingly welcomed by them to settle, intermarry and multiply in God's own country many centuries ago. It is quite possible that this state in the very near future may become the ninth state in the Indian Union to have Hindus in minority and possibly with a full-fledged Sharia system of justice. Very unfortunate and ironic because one of the greatest figures of Hinduism, Adi Guru Shankaracharya was born in Kochi, Kerala.

Terrorism is due to Pakistan and disgruntled local populace due to ineffective central govt policies. However radical Islam and Pakistan are the major reason.

Kashmiri youths see themselves as under occupation due to presence of army since they were born. They don’t know history of India or Kashmir. “They know nothing like John Snow :)” ..just fighting without knowing.

I totally can see why youths in Kashmir and disgruntled with the security forces and a sense of occupation of their land is embedded in their minds. Incidents like shown in the movie “Haider” ..must really be bad experience and leave a lasting impression on the victims as well as motivate them to retaliate.

However as a person who knows the history of Kashmir I would like to say few things:

1. Kashmir since time immemorial has been a majority Hindu with lakhs of temples all around. Preferred by sages and kings alike to dwell in its beautiful valleys and tranquility. This peaceful region was besieged by the marauding Islamic forces and they killed the locals in thousands and displaced and converted millions. Please read about "Sikandar Butshikan" and how Islamization of Kashmir was achieved. How beautiful temples of Kashmir (example: Martand Sun Temple) were destroyed and women of kashmir raped. These very ancient kashmiri people are the ancestors of current people of Kashmir. Kashmiris must know how this and recognize this fact of history. Please read and find and don't believe me blindly. Find the truth.
2. Hence people who talk about Kashmiriyat must know that how Indians feel about this land. What is its thousand years of Indian history and culture. Islamization is only recent. But are you kashmiris Arabs? You have good feature and fair skin ..but so has kashmiri pandits and most of the people living in Uttranchal or Himachal!! You are essentially Indians. For that matter actually even Pakistanis are Indians but some fools wanted to rule and carve a country out of India only for muslims and they failed pathetically in that. India has much more muslims living as Indians than what Pakistan has. Pakistan was made for the rich muslim zamindars. Kashmir is the land of ancient people of India and we cannot let it go. How can we? We are ready to die for it as much as current local people who don't know history and only see some corrupt and wrong action of security forces to justify and wage war against India. I agree there has been high-handedness by the security forces who work under extreme pressure and don't want to die there either and want to see their own wives and kids. There is no way to justify their wrong actions any ways. People in power should and must act more responsibly.
3. I have a message to all my kashmiri bretheren that please don't fight with rest of India.. you are part of us only. Problem is how you have been brainwashed and radical Islam plus killings of innocents around you. But if you see history of the world.. war has not solved anything and it cannot solve…only collateral damage. Guns will only kill innocents on both side believing in one idea or the other. Truth and only sole truth is Kashmir belongs to India because it has been under siege and war since 13th century. Legally too the land belongs to the Indian Union because the ruler of Kashmir seceded to India. Just like how Pakistan claims Baluchistan because its ruler signed papers for Pakistan. BUT there are 2 differences we must note A) Baloch king was forced and they didnt wanted to be fed by wolves and thats the reason for their fight B) Kashmir was attacked by Pakistan under the veil of kabaylis and when the Maharaja asked for help our forces were sent and thats how LOC was made. Due to Nehru's idiocy as India had chance to take complete kashmir by proper military action but Nehru went to UN and article 370 was forcefully added even though BR Ambedkar refused. Thats the reason why Kashmir was never properly integrated and people to people contact got limited. The Kashmir problem not being solved is due to the failure of the Central Govt of India more than anything else. See Hyderabad or other muslim majority areas in India are properly living as Indians. Kashmir is border state so more problem and there is no doubt radical Islam and Jihad is blinding people who wants to make some use of their miserable lives who without the guns are good for nothing.
4. People of Kashmir must also realize what Pakistanis did to their own fellow countrymen only because they didn't spoke Urdu but Bengali. Please read about the GENOCIDE done by Pakistani army in East Pakistan / Bangladesh. Look at what they are doing to Balochs. As far as I know Kashmiris are not good at Urdu either!!! Infact the Punjabi Muslims who rule Pakistan themselves are shunning Punjabi ..very beautiful language like Kashmiri for Urdu. Anyways Pakistan is a country for an army. Its whole and soul and its agenda is set by its army. Its army has only one goal: destroy India. And you have first hand experience on what armies do if given such special powers.. Its not good. India has a very good track record. Our Army is under civilian rule ..never revolted. We are a secular country and even a Kashmiri can become a PM or President and we have no issues. India is the future ..please have a look at Pakistan and its economy and its track record in democracy.
5. I urge all the Kashmiris to understand this very clearly. We Indians will rather die than give-up Kashmir. Now choice is with Kashmirs whether they want to fight and put the future of their coming generation also in jeopardy or get a reality-check and historical-context check? Common people just want to live a good life, security and better education for kids.. good future.. India will provide that. We all want to live peacefully. India has never attacked any nation in its history. We have already given up lot of lands from Kandhar/Gandhar till Lahore... Please give up fighting and live peacefully.. make the Kashmir paradise again as it was till 1960's.. once Kashmir stops supporting militancy all the bias and distrust towards it from rest of India will also stop. We know not all kashmiris are terrorists ..they are common people like us.

Terrorism in Kashmir is funded through many ways and forms :

1. Through NGOs , these NGOs are funded by Saudi’s and their lobbies and these lobbies work under either US , Russia and China ( influence is new but may grow day by day )
2. Through Political promises like the big offices of Politics and administration are offered to politicians and administrators .
3. Through Societies and Trusts .
4. Through Fake business firms and Blue shell companies .
5. Through P-notes and Shares and Equity .
6. Through Mauritius route .
7. Through Professional Money Laundering .
8. Through bribing Judges of Supreme Court and High Court .
9. Through Media Tactics .
10. Through Border Infiltration .

It could not be stopped because there is no political will and too much foreign influence is allowed in a negative form by all Political Parties .
