Kazakhstan is a fantastic country to visit however I recommend not visiting in April to May or September to October for the best weather. There are numerous places of interest, the rich history of the Timurid Dynasty shown in sites like the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed (a UNESCO site) are fantastic, don't miss the fantastic rural landscapes either. Also looking at how the former soviet influence has changed the traditional culture is fascinating.
