While most professions do not have a dress code at work, the social setting can be another matter. I am frequently amused at American businessmen coming to a meeting in suits, only to be greeted by Norwegians in jeans and a jumper. When they agree to meet at a restaurant for dinner, the Americans frequently change to more casual dress, while the Norwegians will go home and put on a suit and tie!
