My child - when she was approximately 4 years old. In a mall, she reached for a shopping cart that a middle aged woman grabbed in the same time. She told my daughter : “take another one, this is mine.” Bad mistake!
The child, with a slightly pissed off look on her face, raised an eyebrow and replied, very calmly, and in her most “no nonsense” toddler voice : ”This is not correct. It is YOURS when you bring it from home. This belongs to this shop. So it’s NOT YOURS.”
I could not believe my ears - I picked her up and went to another area to prevent her from continuing the debate with a stranger adult, just because “it was not correct.”
For the rest of the evening she was looking around for “that woman” (fortunately we didn’t see her again) and she was absolutely determined to keep her position and establish the bloody cart’s ownership. She had a perfect logical thinking.
