There are no formal education requirements to publish a scientific paper. This question comes up all the time but it just shows how gutless most people are. Anybody can write a scientific paper. I wrote my first paper alone and did not show it to anyone. When I got the comments back from the journal I showed my supervisor. He had said I should write a paper and so I did: he was impressed and helped me respond to the queries. That was in 1982, soon after I published 2 other papers with him and I still publish with him today.
You have to read the Instructions to Authors very carefully and format it as they demand!
Here is food for thought. OK I am a polymathic PhD NERD. Predictably enough most of my publications are on topics where I have no formal education or “training” at all.
