I was a contributing writer for Elite Daily a while back---which probably isn't the best thing to admit with my following opinion:
The site does a great job at making you think what you're reading is well-informed and worthwhile, but the truth is, a lot of the writers are kids no older than you (if you're in the 20-26 demographic) and are merely sharing their opinions. Nothing wrong with that. I was one of them, and if they're good enough writers, the content can be entertaining and even somewhat knowledgable. Seeing as the news these days is hardly worth the title "professional" anyway, Elite Daily can be a great resource for someone looking for quick news or a nice list of 10 reasons why they shouldn't be in a committed relationship at 22 years old. But should you read Elite Daily hoping to have the mental whip of someone who reads Harvard Business Review or Chicago Booth's Capital Ideas? No. No you should not. That'd be like reading Buzzfeed and wondering why your ACT score isn't improving.
Elite Daily on Twitter is nice because they keep you informed about pop culture. Beyond that, it is barely a college-level newspaper.
