It's always changing but after almost 100k subs on YouTube, I'm getting decent at keeping up.
Watch time is everything.
How many TOTAL hours of a content creators videos did yo watch?
For example, if you watched 100 hours of PewDiePies videos, then he will be your top recommended YouTuber.
Next, how many hours of a particular niche topic did you watch?
If you watched over 1000 hours worth of car videos, the bingo. Those are what YouTube will recommend!
Finally, did you complete the video. If you watch an entire video completely through, YouTube will not only recommend that creator, but factor in something interesting. It'll pool in data from other people that have watched that particular video all the way through and recommend what those people clicked next.
It used to be a game of clicks, and tags, and descriptions. Now, it's all about content.
Content, content, content.
Cheers!
