Misconception:

Allah says in Quran;

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا ٱلذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ لَحَـٰفِظُونَ ٩

Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [i.e., the Qur’ān], and indeed, We will be its guardian. Hijr 15:9

Explanation:

  • Allah proclaims in this verse that He has descended Quran and He will protect it.
  • It’s not about change or alteration, rather is about the fact that the real Quran will always be accepted and altered one will always be rejected.
  • Its protection is not merely to keep the text safe, rather protection is inclusive to implementation of its commands and injunctions.

Change in Bible:

  • Allah promised the unique protection only for Quran, not for any other book.
  • Divine books of the past were destined to be altered as those were descended only for specific time period.
  • Quran is the last Divine Guidance for humanity till the last day. So, it needs to be protected even for the last person who will come in this world.

Conclusion:

Promise of protection is only for the Quran because it is the last Divine Guidance for humanity.
