Boyfriend's mom is a no-bullshit, call it like you see it, matter of fact woman and I love her.

A few years ago I went to an Italian restaurant with Boyfriend's Canadian family and family friends.

The Italian waiter walked over and asked how we were doing.

Yaaas.

With great flair, aplomb and ease I greeted the waiter in Italian, made him laugh, asked him various questions about the menu and thanked him.

Then, triumphant, I turned to look at the table.

"Oy", said Boyfriend's mom. "What a show off."
