I had a young gal one time working for me. She would come in tired and complain about how her boyfriend and her were up fighting all night. She would come to me about 2 hours later and say my works all done, can I go home? I would never let her leave, I would go in and find her work. It was strange because the job she had, was never caught up. I didn’t understand how she was getting rid of stacks of mail and test results.

She came in as usual and she said; I’m tired can I go home? I said; we are all tired and have work to do. I don’t believe this is a good excuse to leave work. I would appreciate if you get the test results sorted and files pulled.

Next day, it happened again. I said; we have discussed this multiple times and you were written up 2 times, once by me and once by the doctor, if you leave you will be terminated.

I said; will you be leaving? She said; probably. I told her if would like to resign from your position it will look better on your experience and resume. She said; no, but she was leaving. I had her sign the 3rd write up and I said; you understand you are terminated?

She went back in her office and looked to be working, I’m like what are you doing? We need to get your stuff and I will walk you out. She said; My termination starts in 2 weeks right? I said; no its effective once you signed the paperwork.

She left. I was looking around her office to see what needed taken care of. I found stacks and stacks of work she was just shoving in different cabinets.
What a cluster.
