Basically, archaeologists love them. Or, at least, the first one.

Certainly, there are exceptions. There are those who can’t stand how bad an archaeologist Indy is. If there were an actual person running around doing the things Indy does, we’d demand that he be locked up and the key thrown away. There are those who don’t care for action and adventure films in general. But most of us absolutely love the archaeologically themed adventure, romance, and excitement. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see themselves represented by Harrison Ford in his prime? We know that it’s fake. The line in the series which gets the biggest laugh from real archaeologists is probably in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where his father asks in astonishment “You call this archaeology?”, because that’s not archaeology. But oh, what lovely fun.
