Yes. Sometimes we are just that stupid.

It is not that the girls are attracted to the poor treatment (some are though, apparently). They are addicted to the fantasy that they can change a person, from bad to good; or rather, that a person can be bad to everyone, but be good to her only, which makes her so special. Or that person has been hurt in the past (which makes him so bad and problematic), and if she can get into his inner world, she will be rewarded with the hottest, magical love that no one “normal” can give her.

Most of these fantasies will be proved to be wrong. Life is not a movie. Eventually, if they are not already trapped with a bad guy for the rest of their life, after so much hurt they will grow up and realize that life is too short to care for someone who does not treat you right.
