It’s not the same awakenings.

People think they’re all talking about the same awakenings. Most people seem to think there is one awakening. They then disregard someone’s awakening if it doesn’t fit into their idea of what a spiritual awakening is.
The truth is there are
many different types of awakening.
All both hard and euphoric.
I’ll explain a bit.

Most people get stuck in the non-dual awakening. They have no idea at that point that there’s more. In fact, it sounds like ego bla bla from that perspective. Many of them do not re-embrace their humanness and are actually completely out of touch with their emotions, excusing that for being “Transcendent”. It’s a state of denial.
They then proceed to tell others how bliss is all there is, while their personal lives suffer from terrible neglect.
One cannot escape that the seemingly external world is a reflection of the internal. Neglecting the beliefs that are operating in the unconscious, the emotional level, the human level — this is going to cause a lot of unresolved stuff. It will show up in relationships (or the lack thereof), health and any other relevant aspect.

When one re-awakens into the heart, the emotional level, one realizes that humanity operates out of trauma (not always, of course) and that even many of the spiritual awakenings and “enlightenments” are actually an escape from one’s trauma — not different from how alcohol and drugs and work and other addictions are used to escape trauma. There is an underlying emotion that they are escaping, But they don’t know that they’re doing it. Your shadow is something that runs you while you don’t that you don’t know about it.
Only the process of
integration brings you to the revelation, when you’re ready, of your shadows. It is extremely helpful to work with someone who has gone through it. But as long as you have the mind awakening — the non-dual awakening — you are in dissociation, not integration. It’s a hard awakening to wake up from. Quite fundmentalist, dogmatic at times, so sure it is “the ultimate…” There is actually so much spiritual ego in this awakening (especially since it perceives itself as ultimate), but one can’t see it while there.

When the real awakening of the heart occurs, it is seen that there is no hierarchy - everything is the ultimate. Everything then appears equal, for everything is equally The Divine. Everything (everyONE) deserves love.

In the “typical” spiritual awakening (that most people seem to refer to here on Quora) there is often an exclusion of the individual. With further awakenings, the individual is integrated into the Whole. It is seen that the greatest personal benefit is ‘attained’ through alignment with the Cosmic Will. One has to, through integration, reach the understanding of what that is. The mind becomes open to a MUCH bigger picture… a cosmic picture.

Everyone has a different journey and they need different awakenings at different times. For me, the journey felt more like a descent than an ascent. Becoming more “Earthly” was a huge awakening for me. Understanding humans, understanding the level of consciousness prevalent on this planet. Learning how to function in it. My fulfillment would have been stumped if I didn’t ground it all… able to play the earthly game… opening a business, grounding stuff… etc.
But my fulfillment would have been stumped if I had got stuck in the non-dual awakening as well
; in neglect of my individuality and uniqueness. Or in a feminine awakening without balancing it with masculine… etc etc etc…. Many different types of awakenings. Everyone has a different journey and will need different truths at different times. That’s why some teachers one listens to can actually be damaging for them, helping them get stuck, not more expanded and more free.

You contain all elements within you. You can awaken each one. Becoming all-inclusive you will awaken to perfect oneness, and you will awaken to your individuality, embracing all individuals, all uniqueness. You will understand that the One is All and the All are One, and that in order to know oneness the individual is NOT an impediment. You will awaken to your eternal beingness beyond space and time and to your multi-dimensional nature that incarnates in many places simultaneously within space and time. You will awaken to the emptiness of mind and awaken to the full waterworld of emotions, that will allow you to connect with humanity, nature and all rather than come from an exclusive attitude.

All awakenings include the hard and the euphoric. There is something deeply fulfilling about each awakening, because it expands you. But also, opening up to new information (which each awakening brings) can be disorienting, disturbing… until one integrates it… figures out how everything falls into place.

Humans are in the dark area of the cosmos, so to speak. We remember very little of what’s going on. We’re re-membering, which is putting together the big picture bit by bit. We’re in a process of dis-covery and expansion. Some people reach a certain awakening and call it ‘the end’. Usually because “there is no one here anymore” yada yada. This is fine. Unfortunate for them, though. As the cosmic light hits our planet more and more, we will begin re-membering the bigger picture, including ALL members — for that is what re-member-ing is.

There are many awakenings to come.
As we progress, there will come a point when they will be less hard and more ecstatic.

Blessings!
