When I was married to my narcissistic husband he threw my chemistry book across the kichen floor and said I was too stupid to be a nurse. (I was going to take my prerequisites for nursing) I shamefully bent down and picked the chemistry book up and took it out to my car to return it the next day to the college bookstore. After years of abuse I left him. After the dust settled on my divorce I went back to the same college bookstore and bought another chemistry book. From there I took my first college class in preparation of being a nurse. Three years later I graduated with honors from nursing school. That was 30 years ago and I am still a practicing nurse.
