2003.
April 3rd.
It was a hard day in my life.
It was the day I lost my jewel.
Here is that story.
It didn’t start there but about 2 years earlier at Marie Calendars in Federal Way, WA.
During these days my only transportation was my 21-speed bike.
I was in my mid 30’s and recently divorced.
Deciding to attend a single’s event with our church I was the first to arrive.
It was easier that way given my source of transportation.
Gear and all I would arrive and remove my helmet.
Given that exercise causes, well you know, odor, I was certain that people would choose to sit away from me.
Such was not the case as the next to arrive took their place right next to me.
I was surprised as you would be.
For this was not the first time I had met this one.
That actually took place one year earlier as I entered into the Ventriloquist class and clearly had impressed upon my mind that which was impressed.
I put it away from me as not possible especially since I was married at the time.
Now she sat right next to me and we had a great time fellowshipping together.
One thing led to another as this next story clearly shares.
What would you rather not know?
Many significant events took place during our two years together.
One was the colonoscopy which left her very uncomfortable.
Afterward, we stood in the parking lot embraced and in tears through the rain.
Why couldn’t the world just stop and leave us alone?
But it would not.
Which is what led to that fateful day when I lost my Jewel.
I went home that day and fell to my knees in tears.
That’s when I prayed.
“God, I don’t like you right now.”
Why had I accused God of taking my Jewel?
Why do we blame God for the evil that takes place in this world?
Why is it we come to ponder if it is God’s will for us to be healed?
Why?
Oh, why?
Dear reader, it was never God’s will that we enter into sin in the first place.
Genesis 2:17 (KJV) - But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
According to the logic of humanity, it would have made perfect sense to simply discard the design and start over. The hearts of the Godhead could not find themselves doing so.
Isaiah 53:3-9 (KJV) -
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
As if that is not clear enough we then read.
Isaiah 53:10 (KJV) - Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
Is God the Father some type of twisted mental case that the death of His sinless Son would find Him pleased?
No.
That would be this one.
1 Peter 5:8 (KJV) - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The Father just as the Son look forward with exciting anticipation to this day:
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV) -
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
And then, though many other recorded events will take place, this will be our reward.
Malachi 4:2 (KJV) - But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
This is the heart's desire and will of the Father and His precious Son.
Ephesians 1:9-12 (KJV) -
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Not only is it God’s will to heal everyone that is sick, but to establish them too.
Revelation 20:4-5 (KJV) -
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
However, just as in the case of my lost Jewel, it should be known that His time table and ours are not necessarily the same time table.
This is not to say that healing is not available today but rather in understanding that we are all terminally ill with sin know that we cannot fully be healed now. Even so, there are certain things that can be done to put the odds of success on your side.
Here are 8.
- Consider what nutrition you need to consume.
- Take time to get plenty of exercise.
- Hydrate yourself inside and out with plenty of water.
- Get plenty of sun, especially early morning.
- Trust in God and his agape love for you.
- Breath deeply of healthy air.
- Make sure you get plenty of rest each night.
- Temper everything you do so it has a good balance.
These types of activities can improve your health mentally, emotionally, and physically while you journey through this land to your glorious home one fine day.
