I have lived in Copenhagen for 1 year so I am quite eligible.

Unlike other countries like Britain which has London, Manchester, Birmingham. Nottingham, Edinburgh etc and Germany where there are cities like Berlin, Frankfurt, etc Denmark has only Copenhagen the biggest and only international city which has like more then 90 % of the expat population.

Life is different for Danes and the scandic countries like Norway. Finland etc and some British/German/US expats, then the other Europeans like Lithuanians. Estonians and lastly everyone else like the Asian/African countries.

If you happen to be a Dane in Copenhagen then you have a pretty much set pattern. Get up, wear a long black dress and groom well, go to the train station on your bike and catch train (where they sit/stand speechless and emotionless) or take the bike on train itself. At work speak in danish with your danish colleagues as very few companies allow English speakers at work unless they are really talented. Don’t work too hard atleast physically as those jobs are left for the foreigners, come home on your bike around 6. Take your bike again and go with your friends around nyhavn or kongens nytorv area, get drunk and try to speak to women after your are totally smashed. Make her your girl friend depending on how much you earn and how much you need for her maintenance.

For girls its the same as men except that they like sitting in parks or outside bars with their females friends after work and do their hygge thing. Rare to see young men and women together without alcohol.

If you are married and have kids, rent a room or more to international students and make as much money as you can from rent, so you can afford to buy/drive a car with 180 % tax. Jobs are almost guaranteed to Danes who are above 40 even if they just sit and watch the window all day. If you are a young Dane, may be not so lucky.

Life is more or less the same for Norwegians, swedes etc except that they don't wear black all time.If you are educated Lithuanian, Estonian or Russian and came here before 2009, then more likely you have a nice job, speak danish but unfortunately still single at 36. The rest of the Lithuanians, Estonians, Romanians, Bulgarians, Serbians who cannot speak danish are in the hotel industry, house keeping, dish washing etc and surviving on a day to day basis.

The English and Germans have got good jobs and have a very good social life but being the English they are and keeping with the reputation don't try and would probably never learn danish unless they intend to be here for more than a decade.

Indians, Tunisians, Malaysians or other nationalities sent her through companies on a short duration have an OK life but the most unfortunate migrants are the green card holders from India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh 90 % of whom are working as dishwashers, cleaner etc earning 60 DKK/ instead of the minimum wage 118 most likely exploited by Indians, Pakistan and Arab hotel managers. Hardly any savings for these groups and most likely more then half of all the green-card holder end up returning to their home country without any work experience or money at all.

Most Danes atleast in Copenhagen are depressed because of the dull weather, short days during winter and high taxes, their “hygge” is a farce, secretly despise the Arabs and Muslims for sucking up on welfare, high cost of local transport etc. Its an entirely pro white country, only suitable for north Europeans and that’s the way they want it to be. Tourism in Denmark - a 4/5 feet tall mermaid stature and few odd castles here and there. Most of the friends a Dane makes is when he/she is in school/college after which they don’t let any new comer join in. Couples divorcing to avoid higher tax. Most self eccentric and money worshiping people I have seen in all my life. Tax is atleast between 35–42 % for middle income earners and more for higher earners. Taxis are no existent and a luxury. Driving a bike during winter month is a challenge. Most of the jobs are in only 1 city that’s Copenhagen. People in Denmark are highly educated which raises the job requirement for the jobs. Lot of jobs require Phds or a masters which would only require a bachelors degree in Australia or Canada.

Country of 5 million and hiring people expect people to know danish even if the advertised job in English. Housing in Copenhagen is a mess. CPR system where every person has to register his address and that increases the rent drastically. I know people who have stopped working entirely only to collect rent from tenants as they can easily make around 900 $/month/room/person. The saying here is He is not a Copenhagener who has not been cheated on his rent once.

Good thing are food especially potato is quite cheap if you cook at home and beer in Denmark is cheaper than that in India. General practitioners and even hospital treatment are free to everyone with yellow card. Police are non interfering and alcohol tests along highways are rare. People and Police are polite. Copenhagen has a great expat and party culture in the whole of Scandinavia. Salaries are one of the highest in the world and you save a lot if you find a cheaper apartment and cook at home. Almost all Danes in Copenhagen speak English except the very old ones. Funny thing is the ethnic Arabs and Turks here speak only danish here where the Danes are bi or tri lingual.

Do not ever immigrate to Denmark if you are from outside European union unless you can speak danish and can make friends easily as the ultra reserved nature of Danes will drive even the south Europeans insane not to mention us Asians or Africans. Firing is very common here especially if you are young and in those temporary agency related work. No such thing as job guarantee especially if your a foreigner or even a young average educated Dane. Its a over saturated country with the unemployed people by the thousands only waiting to exploited by greedy employers.
