Absolutely! Just make sure that the key is for the pro version. A windows 10 home key won’t work on pro and vice versa. Download the windows iso file highly preferably from the official Microsoft website and NOT any torrent site. Then use the windows 7 download tool (Yes, windows 7 download) tool to Create a bootable windows 10 usb drive. After you install the tool it will ask you for the path/location of the iso file and then ask for the target usb drive letter where the bootable usb drive is to be created . Last step boot your system from the USB drive

To set up your Windows installation files, you will need a Windows computer that’s connected to the internet. Once that’s
1. Plug in the USB drive (atleast 8GB RAM) to your computer.
2. Visit the Download Windows 10 website in a browser.
3. Scroll to the “Create Windows 10 installation media” option.
4. Click on the “Download tool now”.
5. After Windows 10 files are downloaded to your computer, run it and accept the license agreement.
6. On the “What do you want to do” page, click “Create installation media for another PC”.
7. Click on the “Next” option.
8. You can now customize the Windows 10 installation settings as per your liking.
9. On the “Choose which media to use” page, choose to burn the image to a “USB flash drive.”
10. Click on the “Next” option.
11. Windows will automatically find the USB drive and select it. In case you have more than a USB device connected to your PC, choose the correct one, and then click “Next.”
12. The files will be copied to your USB flash drive.
13. Plug in the USB drive with the installation files into the computer you want to install Windows onto.
You will need to change the boot order so that the PC will recognize the USB drive.
1. Switch on your computer and press the correct key to launch the UEFI or BIOS controls at startup – this is usually done by pressing F1, F2, Escape, or Delete as it starts.
2. Once the startup menu appears, locate the “boot” control menu and ensure your computer is configured to boot from USB. Then save the UEFI/BIOS and exit.
3. When the computer restarts, it will boot from the USB drive. The Windows 10 installation program should start automatically.

Method 2:
Download Windows 10 ISO file. (Don't extract anything.)
Download a tool called Rufus. Here's the link:The Official Website (Download, New Releases)
Download and install the software and follow the below steps.
- Rufus requires an account with admin access in order to make the necessary changes to hardware. After authenticating, insert the USB flash drive and launch Rufus. It will detect the drive almost immediately. Since Rufus can handle various partition schemes and file structures, ensure that the correct settings are set that match the UFD you're going to build
- Click the optical drive button next to the Create a bootable disk using checkbox, and you'll be prompted to search for the ISO image to use
- When using ISO images, Rufus will automatically modify the settings to best match it. Once everything is set correctly, click the Start button to begin the process. You'll be prompted with a warning that all data on the UFD will be destroyed. Click OK to proceed with the creation process
- Depending on the ISO image size, the process may take several minutes to complete. For the log readout of each step in the process, click the Log button to open a side window and save the output details
- The longest part of the entire process is the file copy portion. This is typically the last step and varies depending on file size/number of files to copy
- When complete, double-check the external drive to verify the files were copied over.

One of the main requirements for Windows 10 to boot correctly from the flash drive is the Legacy mode, which must be changed from UEFI mode.

Hi. You want to install Windows 10 from USB or from a DVD.
First, you should have the Windows 10 ready USB Drive. Choose between 32 bit or 64 bit. Here are something you should know before proceeding to install Windows. If you have a home series motherboard which support Intel 4th gen processors or higher then the motherboard will support uefi bios and your installation media should be uefi boot ready. But uefi boot is possible only for 64 bit Windows.
Now enter the BIOS menu, select SATA HDD in AHCI mode. Find SECURE BOOT and enable it. Select NORMAL key for secure boot. Disable CSM. Select uefi boot and finally save the configured BIOS by pressing F4 or F10. The machine will restart now.
During restart repeatedly press F9 or F11 or F12 to enter boot menue (look for exact key in the motherboard manual). Select the USB Drive for boot option. This is when actual installation of Windows will start.
Now install your window, selecting your language and region, agree to the EULA. Next select custom install. In the next window you will see your hard drive. Delete all partions one by one if you want complete new installation. If your HDD is large, give at least 200 GB to the OS drive (often called C drive). You should have a calculation like 200*1024=204800+650=205450. You will see the 1st partion to be exactly 200GB. For the remaing partitions viz. C & D drive simply devide remaining space by two. Now left click partition 1 which is 200 GB and click next. Windows will begin to install.
Your computer will restart several times. Have patience. Finally it is over. Don't forget to give the inputs. If you have a key insert it. Don't give any password. Just give your user name. Rest is all YES.
After installation is complete remove the USB Drive, click the windows folder in the task bar to bring in Windows explorer. In the left hand panel select This PC and right click, click manage. From disk management select the first partition without name and right click to add a name to the partition. If you don't have CD/DVD drive then the drive will be D drive automatically. Similarly go for the third drive to make it E drive.
Next is, go to desktop and right click in the blank space to go to Personalise. From left pan select Theme and click Change desktop icon setting. In the small window select everything to bring This PC icon, Control Panel icon etc.
That's all.

The Personalization Settings will remain locked.
Aside from these basic limitations, your Windows 10 system will continue to work forever. There are no nag prompts aside from the watermark, you’ll get all the system updates, and everything else is completely functional.
Microsoft shows clemency in fighting piracy deliberately. If it weren’t for piracy, Microsoft would have a MUCH smaller market share. Piracy itself has helped Microsoft in preventing Macintosh and Linux from being major players in OS usage share.

There are hundreds of sites on the internet selling Windows license keys.
Installing Windows from the Microsoft download site gives you the most recent version.
Some sellers offer Windows in a box. You get a manual, a CD-ROM with Windows installation media, and the license key. It is at least 10 times more expensive than the license key bought at a cheap site. Besides, Windows on the CD-ROM is out of date, and you need a CD reader to use it.

Windows 10 setup will prompt you for a product key during installation a couple times. If you originally upgraded from Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 click the option 'I don't have a key' and 'Do this later' . If you have a Windows 10 product key, you can proceed to enter it.
Setup will also prompt you to select the edition you have a license for - Home or Pro. Please make sure you choose the right edition. If you choose the wrong edition, your only option will be to perform a clean install again.
The copy of Windows 10 you download and upgrade from will correspond with the edition of Windows you have installed, if it does not, this is why you might be experiencing problems activating:
- Windows 7 Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium, Windows 8.0 Core, Windows 8.1 Core should install Windows 10 Home
Windows 7 Professional, Windows 7 Ultimate, Windows 8.0 Pro, Windows 8.1 Pro should install Windows 10 Pro

There are a few other caveats to remember. The “original” Windows 10 installation files being installed have their own internal serial numbers that correlate to their versions, sub-sets, factory codes, etc. The PK off the Internet need to line up to the Windows 10 being installed. It is known that most of the Product Keys being freely offered off the Internet were taken from Volume Licenses.
Sometimes with illicit Product Key that activates Windows 10, one might find it locking up after 6 months. Supposedly, the Windows 10 install was not updated with a new volume license key from a system administrator. Or, more frequently, Windows 10 is deactivated after a failed remote update on Microsoft Update Tuesday. Microsoft is not joking around when it says that Windows is activated with a digital license.
Microsoft has over 25 years of seeing all sorts of exploits of its activation system. It was easier 25 years ago than now.
Take your chance and good luck.
I’ll assume that you’re asking two separate questions;
- To activate Windows 10; you have to buy a license for that particular version you want of Windows 10. After you bought a license through a digital store or by buying a retail box, you’ll get an activation key that you can enter on Start > Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

That is if your Windows 10 was activated using product key.
There are another way to activate Windows 10 by using digital license; this is done without using product key, thus you can’t get a product key from it since it was bound to your PC/laptop digital signature. This was done automatically if you bought Windows 10 directly from Microsoft Store.
You can download and install Windows 10 with the media creation tool but If you’re coming from an older version then you will unfortunately have to purchase a copy of Windows 10 Home (minimum or Pro if you need bitlocker or any other of the additional features) I recently installed windows onto my laptop but I already owned a windows licence tied to my Microsoft account so when I signed in it automatically activated without any need for a licence key or any further action from myself. If you’re coming from 7 or 8 though then the deadline for the free upgrade to Win10 has already surpassed a while back so there’s little choice but to A: Buy a licence key (they can be picked up for as little as £15-£20 (I’m British so you’ll need to convert for wherever you are)) or B: (Can’t recommend it and you may find yourself with bugs/errors/crashing) is to illicitly validate the software but it goes without saying that you won’t be entitled to periodic updates automatically pushed to your PC, which in turn (if connected to the internet) poses a massive security risk, so go genuine. :)
There are many situations where you might want to reinstall your operating system or get a new one entirely. For example, you’d need to reinstall Windows if you encountered a serious error, your hard drive became damaged or corrupted, or you’re upgrading/downgrading your system.
Before you can install Windows using a USB, you need to create the installation media itself. USB should have a storage space of at least 8GB or more. Flash drives with lower storage space will not work since Windows 10 is quite large and requires ample space to be successfully installed.

Yes, you can use your Windows 8 activation key to activate Windows 10. Here’s how it works and what you need to know:
### Activation Using Windows 8 Key
1. **During Installation**:
- When you install Windows 10, you can enter your Windows 8 product key when prompted for an activation key.
- This method works because Microsoft allows the use of Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 product keys to activate Windows 10.
2. **After Installation**:
- If you didn’t enter a product key during installation, you can still activate Windows 10 afterward.
- Go to **Settings** > **Update & Security** > **Activation**.
- Click **C

- Go to **Settings** > **Update & Security** > **Activation**.
- Click **Change product key** and enter your Windows 8 product key.
### Why It Works
- **Microsoft's Free Upgrade Policy**: During the free upgrade offer period, Microsoft allowed Windows 7 and Windows 8 users to upgrade to Windows 10 for free. This policy has been unofficially extended, allowing users to use their old product keys for activation.
- **Digital License**: When you use a Windows 8 product key to activate Windows 10, Microsoft grants a digital license to your device, linking your Windows 10 installation to your hardware instead of the product key.
### What to Consider
1. **Genuine Key**:
- Ensure that your Windows 8 key is genuine and has not been used on multiple devices beyond its license terms.
2. **Matching Editions**:
- The edition of Windows 10 you install must match the edition of your Windows 8 key. For example, a Windows 8 Pro key can activate Windows 10 Pro, but not Windows 10 Home.
3. **Error Messages**:
- If you encounter errors during activation, double-check the key for any typos and ensure you are connected to the internet.
4. **Support**:
- If activation fails, contact Microsoft Support. They can help verify your key and resolve activation issues.
By using your Windows 8 activation key, you can upgrade to and activate Windows 10, ensuring your system is properly licensed.
There’s no legal way to activate Win’10 Pro without valid licence.
It’s possible to find “cure” but you must realize:
- That is illegal .
- Cured installation image may contain malware.
- The same is true for numerous “activators”.
I’ve got rid of M$ products in my home but my last Windows copy was honestly bought.
YES.
You CAN use a Windows 7, or 8.1 Activation Key to activate Windows 10, and you can use Windows 10 activation keys to activate Windows 11 too!
Microsoft is doing this in a bid to allow inter-operability and better adoption rate for newer OSes.
I am speaking with experience, having activated my Windows 10 Pro License using my old, Windows 8.1 Pro License, from an older PC that I no longer use.
Win 10 on a newly built PC will install easily from a USB, which you can create using the official ISO you linked. Works just peachy. I’ve done exactly that, hundreds of times.
But it will be unregistered. Registering will require a new Windows license - which you will have to buy. Personally, I recommend buying it directly from Microsoft, online, using the same machine you want to register. They make it easy - of course!
Sure, there are workarounds and “hacks”… but in general, if you have ethics, Windows is not free.
It never has been.

The upgrade to Win 10 was only “free” for a year, and only when upgrading from Win 7 and Win 8, and only on that specific machine.
On a new build, Windows is gonna cost you. Like - actual money.
Did the machine had an activated installation of Windows 10 running on it previously? If so, your new Windows 10 installation should activate automatically as soon as you connect the machine to the Internet via a digital license that’s tied to that specific PC’s hardware.
If this is a brand new Windows 10 installation you will need a product key.

The reason behind using a VM is that Microsoft does not allow users to install Windows on external drives. But if you configure raw disk access, then from the installer’s perspective, the external drive will be. an internal SATA or SCSI drive (depending on what you want to emulate) which Windows can be installed to.
No, you cannot use windows 10 home key for pro but if you have used previous windows in pro edition than you use that key to activate windows.

While the possibility is good that a new Product Key for Windows 10 Pro would have to be purchased, try this first. If it exists, use the Product Key that was taped to the laptop by its maker. It might be valid to activate the Windows 10 version.
Since it is not stated from where this Windows 10 Pro version was obtained, if it were one downloaded from the laptop maker’s support site, this would be good reason to call for support help. A sympathetic tech might provide a working Product Key.
Frankly it is something I wouldn’t worry with. You have a OS that you know someone has tampered with. Use your new key to down load a fresh copy of Win 10 & copy all your data. Do a fresh install and be sure to run a antivirus. A free one is better than none.
So lets suppose I want a bot network. How can I set one up and bypass the antivirus ? And I want a really large one so I need people to unknowingly help me set it up. Hey I know I will give them something they want and entice them with getting something for nothing. They will never find a few extra lines of code I put in the OS……..
You will have to call MS support and ask them to release your license before you can add it on the new PC. OEM licenses are locked to specific manufacturers and cannot be used on different PC brands, not to mention if there are major hardware changes, the license will be locked.
The process takes all of 5 mins over a toll free call however, so there's that.
It depends if the license you have is a retail or from OEM copy . If you bought a retail version of windows 10 pro , you can install it on up to 4 devices . If you received a OEM copy ( like you bought a computer from best buy and it had windows 10 on it ) I don't think it can be switched to another device . If you had to replace the hard drive it still takes a verification through the motherboard profile . That activation key takes a snapshot of all your components . If the motherboard is changed it will think this is a new computer .
